What about Jeremy Shelley? He's having a damn good season. I know he probably isn't the best kicker in the nation but I would think a perfect kicking percentage might get you some nominations.

i d say thats a little harsh, but i do wonder if kelly's smallish frame will allow him to match up better with guys like that who are quicker

So I think I at least see where BTC is coming from on this, at least on Outland and Lombardi. Not a shot at Barrett by any stretch...
3 he should absolutely be in the running for IMHO:
Sportsmanship award - clearly he deserves to be in the running and should win.
Campbell (academic Heisman) - definitely deserves to be a finalist; I'm unaware of the other contenders but he'd get my vote.
Rimington - Would have no issue with Barrett winning this one - again not 100% aware of competition, but he's been more than serviceable at a position he isn't best suited for at the next level.
2 where I think his inclusion is a stretch:
Outland - I think his proven versatility is a clear point in his favor, but I'd hesitate to say he's been better this year at the position he has played than Chance has been at his. In fact, I'd be quite confident saying he hasn't been.
Lombardi - similar comment, but even more exacerbated by his being the only true lineman in the entire group (Clowney to an extent). Personally, there are at least 5 linemen (to name a few - Joeckel, Warmack, Jonathan Cooper on offense, Lotulelei from Utah, the DE from A&M, Jon Hankins from OSU and maybe Sheldon Richardson on defense) more deserving based on this season's body of work IMHO.
