Just found out I'm going to be a Grandfather ... Now What?

I know there are plenty of you old fossils out there that can help me know what to expect. Things I've noticed over the past 24 hours since I got the news:
1) I have lost most of my hearing,
2) White socks look good with any outfit,
3) My good knee hurts with no rain in the forecast, and
4) I have rapid hair growth inside my ears (potentially the cause of No. 1 above).
Straight up, give me the bad news.

Congrats...as a grandfather myself...you get the luxury of enjoying little kids without all the bother and maintenance...btw start them a college fund NOW!! :)

My wife and I just had our first baby in September... she was the first grandbaby on both sides of the family. Both granpas are still ecstatic. They love coming to see her (and are a lot less strict than they were with me & my wife!)
So if they're any indicator, you're in for an awesome experience! Congrats!

5. In a few years he/she can change your diapers.
6. Wearing house slipper and a bath robe to the store at your age is considering "ok"....because you're old.
I have more.....but didn't think you could handle all this knowledge this early in your career. ;)

To add on to RollinginGA, start contributing to the CollegeCounts AL 529 Plan to send your grand baby to Ttown. We need to start breading Bama babies to out number the Aubs! But seriously itt's the new state of Alabama 529 plan with no tax consequences on your federal or state return upon distribution. The other out of state plans like the highly popular New Hampshire plan are taxable on your state return.
