Well, at least we were consistent. No really, on a serious note, this could be one of the worst seasons in baseball that I have ever seen. You cannot sugarcoat it it's been a complete disaster from start to finish. All you can hope for is massive improvement next year and any hope of recruiting better players and a more hands-on and diligent coach or coaches. Because what I saw this year was a passive approach to the game that just flat out did not work

Get blown? At first, I was like, "that doesn't make sense," but when I think about it, my wife is actually very proud of her skills. She's not going to talk to folks at the ballpark about it or anything, but I know she takes great pride in a good one. It is like a win for her, so I see where you're coming from. +1

Easily the worst since pre-Jim Wells. Basically the worst that many of us can remember.

Following up on OP's great info - here's a couple of other things that stand out to me.

In the past 5 SEC series (15 games) we've failed to score more than 2 runs in NINE of the 15 games. Down the stretch, this offense has completely tanked.

--On the season, we've scored 2 or fewer runs 18 times.
--We've scored 1 or fewer runs 10 times.

So basically, 35 percent of the time we score 2 or less. Almost 20 percent of the time we score 1 or less. This is almost impossible to do in college unless you just go to the plate blindfolded.

We've not been mentally tough, and this is one of the main reasons this year has turned out the way it has. 15 of our 33 losses were by 2 or less runs. 7 of our 33 losses were by 1 run. 11 of 20 SEC losses have been by 2 or fewer runs. Just pull out half of those and we might sneak into Hoover.

Also - maybe the most sobering stat of the season - we're 7-20 in SEC play. We've had FOUR walk-off wins at home (3 HRs and 1 double.) This team is very easily within about 4 swings of the bat of being 3-24 in the SEC.
