Just spent over an hour looking at the schedule...

  • and the opponents. I just cant find a loss. Cant see it and usually I get worried about a couple of games a year.

That offensive line, and AJ's maturation and skills are going to carry this team.

I believe after this year the college football world will admit that the machine is running full force and the dynasty is on.

  • I agree. I know all the talking heads want to bring up the defense being the weak the link but I think the defense will be top 3 or 4 at the worst & the offense will be the best we have seen at Alabama since I don't know when. The offense will put a lot of pressure on the other teams to keep up & that is when the defense will take their hearts & their manhood.

  • The only thing that worries me is a significant injury on the OL or to AJ. I'm not talking a sprained ankle or a concussion that will keep a lineman out a game or two. I think we can rotate BJ to any position and bring Kelly in at center and survive. I'm talking about a lineman getting rolled up on and tearing a knee up or a broken leg Wes Britt style. I worry about the depth long term in that situation as well as the chemistry on the line. If we can avoid major injuries to those two positions I definitely see another championship run.

  • The only game that I am somewhat worried about is Tennessee. If they can find a running game this year it would help Tyler Bray out a lot. The receiving corps is kinda scary. They can cause a lot of match-up problems. But if Fulton, Dixon, and Belue play well early my worry will go away.

IMO, it's a 3 game season. Michigan because it's early, UT because their offense should be pretty good, and LSU for the obvious reasons.

THIS plus at Arky--they have a lot of talent, and while they lack depth, they get us early and at home...

I agree about Arky and lsu will be a war. lsu is built on a good OL and DL as well and with any pass game at all their run game becomes harder to stop just like ours. They also are at home with a week off to prepare while we play MSU which is normally a very physical game every year. We also have a new offensive coordinator although he looks like a great hire

Man I hope you all are right but how many losses did you all predict before 2010? Zero right? No one predicted USCe or the barn and certainly LSU was not nearly the team we faced last year or this year.

The thing about cfb is you never know. We should win them all and i hope we win them all but we are also capable of dropping a game or two.

To the ones who are predicting TN giving us trouble I hope you are wrong. We tend to hammer them in Neyland of late with the closer ones in BDS like 2009 or the first half of last years game. Frankly I'm not buying any stock in UT in Dooley's farewell season.

  • You spent an hour looking at the schedule? You can't find a game that worries you?

30 seconds into my hr of schedule gazing, and I got worried about LSU.

You're probably right though. It's easy to go into baton rouge and come out with a win.

you obviously didn't read Travis' article about "why UA won't repeat".

I've been down ever since reading him but you just picked me up (of really confused me).

  • I will take a wait and see approach.

I feel fine on the offensive side of the ball with AJ, our RBs and the OL. I am concered about the WRs because they seem to be talanted but I want to see on the field production. But it doesn't worry me much because we had very average WRs last year and in 2009 we didn't have great WR play with Julio having an off year.

Yet I go back to 2010 but not for the motivation reason. I think the guys probably learned from that. But we made a lot of mistakes because we had young guys that hadn't been tested in live SEC play. The experience factor concerns me a lot, especially in the secondary. We have Milner and Lester so I am fine with those guys.

But we are going to have a new safety who is going to be relied on. Vinnie or Ha-Ha will be there and they won't get to have the benefit of arguably the best defense ever hiding them. Mistakes will happen. Barron was great for us but he still had busted coverages the 1st year he was a starter in 2009 or biting on fakes like in that 2009 AU game. We also have 1 new CB which will likely be a JUCO or Fulton. And then we will have a new star player back there in our 5 DB sets. That is a lot of guys that don't have experience to fall back on. In the secondary if you make a mistake a big play can happen fast. We didn't really give up big plays last year except for a small, small few. So we have to overcome that. And we have a very new LB corp that I think is big on talent but again small on experience outside of Nico and CJ.

I put a lot of stock in experience playing. I think you need that in Saban's defense.

So as far as losses I could see us losing to Arkansas and LSU. Arkansas has the tools to beat us with a QB that will make plays. I think we lose to LSU because I like the mix of new and old they have coming back and because it is on the road.

I hope you are right though. But it is foolish IMO to think there is no way we can lose a game, because we can. Hopefully though in those games where we can lose, we don't.

  • Our bye week is way too early. The Mizzou-LSU stretch is gonna be tough to get out of without an L, but I fully expect us to be undefeated heading into Baton Rouge. If we lose to LSU, a lot of it will have to do with them having a bye and us being at the end of our toughest stretch of the season. Reminds me of the USC loss in '10. USC had a bye while we were coming off games against Arkansas and UF.
