If we had another shot at them. First Quarter, they owned us, after that we made major Defensive adjustments. They only scored 9 points the remainder of the game. Johnny is good, but Kirby figured him out, we really got to him in the second half. They did not run the ball consistently affective against us and we sacked him a good bit after the first Quarter. I thought we ran the ball well as the game progressed. TJ really hurt us when he fumbled, but he will make a lot of great plays for us. Our D did not quite and Tamu knows they are lucky to get out of there with a win. This is my main gripe, we have the balls at the 4 yard line with 4 plays to get in. We had been running the ball for gains consistently all night. Why not put the jumbo package with Jessie Williams and let TJ run behind him. Our Online line could surely push forward 1 yard a play. There was no need to get cute and throw the ball at that time like the pac 10 does. We are a power running team with a huge OL, RUN THE DAMN BALL. Whoever made the calls at the end of the game cost us a chance to win, plain and simple. I bet Jim M. Would have run the ball in!!!! Now, let me say this, we never would have been in that situation had we not turned the ball over 3 times and given up 20 in first Qt!, but we have not faced an Offense like that this year and we made adjustments. I guarantee u if we played them again, we would own them, Saban is a great coach making adjustments. I'm just going to hold ahead and say it do flame away, DN cost us the win by not trying to pound the ball in, hell, we had done it twice already. He had better learn this is not the west coast!!!! Yes, we are young at spots, but I really believe that we have a better team than Tamu. Johnny is good, but Cam is a better runner. Johnny will not hold up in the pros, too small, but he is a good college QB. So we turn ball over 3 times, give up just 9 points after 1st qt adjustments and still have only 4 yards to win the game. Saban should have taken over play calling at the end. No, this year's D is not as good as last year's, but it's a damn good team and with adequate practice time we could beat anyone in the nation. 4 damn yards may cost us a shot at the NC Game, damn. As for UGA, their QB is no Johnny football and we will run all over them if we get to play them. Johnny Football will have a surprise next year, Saban is great at revenge games. We gave that game away and play calling at the end was part of it, so flame away. I feel we are a good football team, just young at spots, but they will learn...... DOUG N.... Sorry for the rant, i still love this team, the guys work and play hard. It would have been nice to have upshaw, TR, Kirkpatrick back for this year, but i understand $$$
