Kudos on 4 RB class

  • I think Kamara plays more of a role similar to Percy Harvin in 2008 at Florida.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

  • Alvin Kamara 2012 highlights. Compare to Harvin highlights in previous post.

Kamara doesn't have Harvin's top-end speed but I think they'd be about even over the 1st 10-20 yards. Both have great acceleration.

All year we saw post after post about how we could not keep all THREE running backs, Tyren, Altee and Derrick. Then, it went to a new level when we looked like we were going to add Kamara. The posters kept posting about which player they didn't care if we lost and hoped they would go elsewhere because we didn't need them anyway. Now the coaches plan comes together, we land ALL four running backs in what has to be in contention for the greatest running back signing class of all time; only time will tell. Everytime I would read a post about how we didn't need this player or that and "don't let the door it ya in the butt on the way out fool," I cringed and shook my head, hoping the prospect or their family were not reading the post. This class is going to be fun to watch develop and see how each of their roles unfold. Roll Tide!

I used to think Bama fans were a notch above other schools as far as game knowledge and how we respected our coaches and players.

Posting on these boards quickly taught me that wasn't the case. We have just as many childish losers as other fanbases.

My personal opinion on our RB class is that Henry will eventually see a lot of the same role Fowler did earlier this season before his injury which I personally find exciting. As good as our O was down the stretch I think it would have been that much better had Jalston stayed healthy. Having Henry to provide depth insures we'll see that.

Kamara in my opinion offers options as a 3rd down back that we haven't had before in Saban's time here at the Capstone. Given time in the weight room he should also grow into a every down back.

Jones and Tenpenny are both the typical type back that the Tide has gone after during Saban's reign. Both are more than capable of running between the tackles.

I'm a big fan of Tyren Jones. I believe he played in the toughest high school division in the country and dominated in doing so. Had he held out to make his decision on signing day there would have been big time hoopla over his signing. If his leg injury heals cleanly he will eventually be a huge star for Alabama. Whether the leg injury leads to him red shirting next year is unknown but wouldn't surprise me.

That could give Tenpenny. The upper hand at early playing time next season though how many carries that entails of course depends on how well he picks up the offense and particularly the pass blocking assignments, something that kept Drake from getting more reps with the ones last season.

Saban brought us more RB talent in one class than our barner counterparts have seen in 6or7 years.

<. As long as Saban's running things, this is how the Tide Rolls!

  • On paper, this class destroys the next contender. Time will tell. But these guys know exactly what they signed up for. They'll hang with the other rbs, eat dinner, and everything in between. But they know they're the real competition, not the other teams. Every snap will be an audition. And they're are as hungry for those carries as an Ethiopian for a bowl of stew.

This somehow turned into some EA sports game.
