LOL. Phillip Marshall CANNOT stand Bama dominance! >>

Well, if PM's 2012 predictions are half as accurate as his 2011 installment, we're in big trouble:

So awesome. He just totally ignored the fact that Alabama had more NFL talent than any other team and said overrated

LSU absolutely doesn't return everyone, they have a QB that doesn't really know what to expect. I don't see them being near as good as they were last yr. 2 losses IMO

Agreed, they return everybody, except all their best players, and I bet they digress at QB.

  • Geez...the only reason he went 6-deep was so as to be able to include AU, a middle-of-the-pack program. The only people who consider Auburn among the elite are the boogers themselves.

    Their best players don't return?

    Matheu returns

Most of the DL returns except for Brockers and I think Adams.

They return their entire stable of RBs including Hilliard who is at least as good as Charles Scott was (why Ware starts over Hilliard and Ford I'll never know).

They return all their WRs except for Randle. Their WRs are very good but they can't make plays without a QB

They also return 3 or 4 OL starters.

LSU will be good. No doubt in my mind they win minimum of 10 games next year. The question will be how much better their passing game is. If they're one dimensional we'll beat them as the only teams that have beaten us since 2008 were balanced teams (Utah being the exception and even they ran the ball some against us with that wildcat TE of theirs).

  • A "Senior Editor" that needs some editing - only at auburn. The number of missing and misplaced words make this look like a Jr. High composition assignment on the topic of "fantasy". I give it a C-. Whoever is in charge of the 247 brand should look into buying Mr. Marshall an English textbook. I suggest that book be written on a 4th grade level.

This guy is an embarrassment to 247sports. His stuff is literally no different than some of the crap written by those buffoons at the Bleacher Report.

Dude, the stuff on BR runs RINGS around his brand of pseudohack "jurnalysm" (sic)...

That's a typical response from a traditional 2nd place team. They always have been the little sister, I meant brother, in this state and they always will be. 2nd place is merely 1st loser.

well, they can't realize their real place is down with MSU's of the league, which, with Vandy's come-uppance, is leaving them squarely on the bottom...

They just can't understand WHY they're treated like "po' little retards" who don't have the clout of the Alabamas, the Oklahomas, the Notre Dames, the USCs, and the OSUs of the world...and I don't suppose they ever will (and they won't admit it even if they do realize it). Sadly, I can't even read his crap for pure entertainment, because what he writes is so poorly written...

Yea that was too strong taken at face value but I don't think "they got everybody back" is correct either, the answer is in between. This is just my opinion but I will give you a few notes...

Claiborne was the best player on the team, physical and polished with excellent athleticism, he had almost no weaknesses. I would love to have TM7 on my team, but I would take Claiborne over four Honey Badgers.

I think Brockers was the second best player of the team. 300lbs and moves like he does, he was doubled every play. He is a complete beast!

I thought the LBs were a very strong and underrated unit, particulary Baker, and they are all gone.

Nobody seems to realize this or care, but before the NC championship game, Jarrett Lee lead the SEC in QB rating and Jordan Jefferson was second. They almost never turned the ball over. If we think that Mettenberger is going to be a huge upgrade to that duo, then he should easily win the Heisman trophy. So those calling for a big upgrade should absolutely one of the greatest seasons ever for a QB in the SEC. We shall see, but I don’t know.

Blackwell was their most consistent linemen (despite being dominated in the NC game). At RB they get everybody back so it’s a moot point, but I just do not see the supposed greatness of Kenny Hilliard. He is pretty good against an undersized and tired defense, I don’t know I would take Ware and Ford over him all day every day.

Randle was obviously the best receiver by a long shot, Shepard coming back also hurts them a bit because he is awful.

  • Auburn fans make fun of us for having such high expectations for every season, but we have a reason to, 2 national titles in 3 years, and 48-6 in the past 4 years says we have the right to hold each season in such high regard! All the barn hopes for is a bowl game lol. bol14

  • If these "brilliant" sportswriters and blogsters keep "predicting" that Alabama
won't win a championship every preseason, sooner or later they'll be right.
    Like the proverbial broken clock.

I have personal reasons to enjoy seeing that ol' yeller teefed blowhard
squirm like this, and I'll just leave it there.
