I don't know CNS.. but I don't think he'll be losing any sleep over that play. You know he loves the passion and fierocity that his 2nd and 3rd teamers are playing with. My personal opinion, but I doubt he makes THAT big a deal of it.

The play resulted in a major penalty; if was not an incidental foul. I firmly believe CNS will use this as a "teachable event" and that the offender will find practice this week to be especially trying.

  • That was not a dirty play by LaMicheal Fanning, go back and look at the replay. Watch Tyler Hayes #36 real close, it looks like LaMicheal suplex him because Hayes came in and finished of the tackle hard, causing the runner to flip over the way he did. No penalty, the runner landed the way he did because of the angle he was tackled by the two defenders. RTR

  • I have heard many of you simply say that its football, its nasty. Whatever. Explain this.

Why couldn't LF just tackle him normaly? Why did he have to pick him up and slam him on his head? And those saying the RB should of "just went down". REALLY???? Nothing the RB could have done to not get slammed on his head. Also a player "bumping" LF didn't cause that to look worse than it was.

That was a terrible decision that could have seriously impacted the RB's life. I know football is dangerous but that suplex multiplied the chances of injury almost 100%. No room in football for that. Just bring him down without suplexing him.

With responses that you liked it, you have identified yourself as a thug on this board. Or an Internet badass. The question is was it necessary. Answer: no. The next question is could it injure someone: yes.

Kid was probably just amped up and did something stupid. Doesn't mean he is a thug, but also doesn't mean there should not be appropriate consequences. We will see what those are. I am sure that wont be tolerated by CNS.

    Was the player defenseless? No
    Had the whistle blown? No

Leading with head on qb and WR much bigger concern.
And I'm no badass or thug. Really a softy father of 2.

  • It was an excessive and definitely worthy of a penalty. I don't think it was suspension worthy though. He didn't target or lead with his head.

  • If LF gets suspended then Mike Slive needs to publicly apologize for Nick Fairley's 2010 season.

Im telling you, it was the most dangerous looking thing I've seen. Give me a freaking break. Ass clowns.

Man, you guys are downvoting like champions. I assume you think Gary and Verne are geniuses or didnt hear Verne say it was the most dangerous looking thing he's seen. It was a quote. I fixed it though.

  • Yes it was dangerous and worthy of a penalty, but I really doubt he did it on purpose. On the team they call him "Big Dink" because he is a big guy that just didn't get the defense when he got here. See ball get ball is how he played. I think he is just a big guy caught up with adrenaline on the play and didn't know his own strength. It doesn't mean he should have done it, but it doesn't make him a thug either.

Was the whistle blown or was the player defenseless. These are your two criteria? Wow. So softy dad of two when someone blind sides your child in a sport when they aren't expecting it, I guess it will be ok as long as no whistles blow or if they have a pad of some kind on. Nevermind they get hurt cause another player jacked them up unprovoked. As long as no one blows a whistle it will be ok.

I think you want to rethink your argument.

I'm pretty sure a blindsided player is defenseless. Kids don't get hurt from players wrapping up and body slamming. They get hurt tackling with the top of their head or other freak accidents In traffic. Will it be nerve racking when my kids are old enough to play, absolutely. I just think you and others are over reacting about this play. Just saw Conner shaw get it worse in the LSU game.

Someone gets blindsided in just about every football game. Unprovoked. That's football.

  • Talked to him last night. He is not in nobody's dog house.. It amped up the coaches and players when he did it. He was told not do again, but a certain coach like the enthusiasm.. Dink is far from a thug and for present bama family calling him one is ridiculous. Let the coaches coach and you fellas keep thinking y'all know more than them or should decide what they teach and try to get out of their players. I'm not sayin coach rump wanted him to suplex him but he has been looking for a fire under dink. Well folks he got it..
