Lebron has two points in 4th qrt!

  • What is crazy to me is how Durant is such a superior shooter than Lebron or Wade but yet he still drives to the bucket as much or more than both of them. He could fall in love with the jumper but he realizes the way to win is taking the ball to the basket.

Bad performance for sure, but he got his team to the finals again. Let the series play before starting the hating. He was counted out after game 5 against Boston too. Some people just can't wait to take shots at lebron.

What do you win these days for winning a really bad Eastern Conference made even worse this year by the loss of Rose?

  • Other than Bama fans, I have two favorite types of fans.

    1) Butthurt Auburn fans.

    2) Butthurt Lebron/Heat fans.

They're both just so much fun.

  • Tired of lebron lovers bashing lebron haters. You lebron lovers that blindly defend him no matter what he does are delusional. The guy could go 0 for 20 in the final game of the finals with the game on the line and you'd still defend him and say everyone has a bad game now and then. He isnt MJ or even Kobe as an above poster said. The guy is a great player and a great talent but he isnt clutch. He doesnt demand the ball and take over a game on a consistent basis when his team needs him to. MJ did and Kobe does. Get over it and stop whining and defending a valid criticism.

This is a typical statement about lebron. He ALWAYS disappears when his team needs him the most.

He is the best 3 quarter player in the league

He is the best player in the world for 3 1/2 periods. He just doesn't have the killer closer mentality. He always fades late in the 4th. It's just who he is as a player.

Clyde Drexler made a great point on ESPN radio. He said that Jordan redefined the role of a superstar. Before Jordan, superstars would draw double and triple teams down the stretch and then distribute. Jordan was the first who would draw double and triple teams in the fourth, keep the ball, and still score, so we now expect the best player in the game to do the same (even though that wasn't Magic's game, Wilt's game, etc.). Lebron shouldn't feel the need to be Jordan and we shouldn't need for him to be Jordan. He can be one of the 10 greatest players of all time without scoring 15 in the 4th quarter of every playoff game. He needs to give himself the freedom to give up the ball when he draws that 4th quarter double team, rather than feeling like he has to create his own shot in the face of a double team.

And I think there's been some revisionist history on Jordan. We forget how often even Jordan would distribute to Paxon, Pippen, etc. in those situations late in his career and we forget how often he kept the ball in the face of a double team, shot, and missed during the first 5 years of his career.

  • This makes sense, but Lebron does not distribute in these fourth quarters either. You can still be aggressive without shooting or scoring but he does not do this either.

My point is at least let the series play out, then bash him. It was fourth quarter with 7 minutes remaining in game 1.

  • Here is the reality, and you can keep your head in the sand if you like but Durant is the "clutch" guy right now. He doesn't care if it's 10 min left or 1 min left. He wants the ball and he can create space and open shots. I hate OKC and I hope they drop the ball and Durant ends up in LA one day (G)

  • If he disappeared every time the game was on the line his team wouldn't have made it to the finals. The heat have won 12 games in these playoffs you know
