Les Miles the Sly genius = LOL

  • Miles the Sly football guru?! headslap lol
He is and has been what we thought he was: a likable moron cyclopswho wins on talent and luck. The LSU nation deep down knows this too and put up with his antics as long as the W's keep flowing. But trust me, the first chance they get to run him out of town they will do so. His whole career at LSU has borderlined on miraculous.......This National Championship loss could be a dynasty buster and start the LSU program into a tail spin.

Les Miles = Who is the bigger fool. The fool himself or the one who believes in him?

  • No way LSU gets rid of Miles. C'mon! Lots of passion in that fanbase, but that would be stupid, stupid stupid.

  • It's funny how a lot of people myself included had to finally give credit to Miles after the past two seasons. I'd even given credit to Jordan Jefferson in talking with some LSU fans this year. Then after about the second series of Monday's game, I suddenly realized the mirage had broken and Les and JJ were exactly who we thought they were all along.

I thought the exact same thing. I was starting to believe his being so goofy and confused was mostly an act. Nope. He's not that good an actor.

For them to look so unbeatable most of the year then lay that big of an egg in the biggest game of their lives is baffling. I know we played great and made them look bad but they didn't even put up a fight. We didn't even have to make their asses quit, they volunteered.

  • Just an honest question, was LSU that bad because of Les, or because Alabama D is that good. I want to believe and do it was because of our D. I think any team in the country but LSU Monday night gets beat by at least 45 by us, we were that focused. Does this make Les a bad coach, I'll leave that answer to you experts. RTR

Spoke to a friend of mine down in Louisiana and he absolutely feared having to play us again. I believe the whole LSU nation knows that "Saban beat Saban" in the first game and they wanted no part of a rematch......LSU was mentally defeated before the game ever started. Not sure if its was the Saban factor, the Bama factor, our defense, or they just had not confidence.
I personally think the LSU players and coaches know their team is privately in schambles and they had not confidence as a team in their coahces or gameplan. They knew their luck was going to run out and we could match them talent-wise. Without those 2 things, they were dead in the water and they knew Miles coaching ability wasn't going to pull them out lol

Their speed and athletic ability on D is what kept it from being a complete blowout. He gets credit for bringing those players in.

But definitely in this, the biggest game of his players' lives, with over a month to prepare, he got out coached to a comical level. Doesn't neccessarily make him a bad coach, but doesn't exactly make him a great one either, now does it?

This is it. Their D held Bama to 60% of their average scoring output. Good job, LSU D.

They Offense was comically bad (Ga Southern scored 21 on us). But it had been really had at times all year if you look at how they scored. The difference was that they typically generated 2-4 turnovers a game, and major special teams plays that swung momentum suddenly. When it started swinging, they rode it to wins with a run game (see Oregon and Georgia games).

You cannot rely on turnovers to win all year. While they can be improved with coaching, they are (in some ways) a statistical fluke that cannot be relied upon to win games consistently.

I expect LSU to take a step backwards next year. Not just because of the soul-crushing beatdown they just got, but because their turnover ratio will return to a more normal level next year (regression to the mean, see Lester for an example). In short, teams won't beat themselves for LSU.

  • You guys are crazy if you think Miles is a bad coach.

LSU beat us this year and last year. Crappy coaches don't luck into two in a row against Saban that often.

He's not on Saban's level, but he's a good coach.

  • This is funny. We have LSU fans who see Miles for what he is. And Bama people calling him a good coach. Are ya'll trying to use reverse psychology because he really sucks and you want him to stay around longer? cool
