Linebackers in 2013

  • Who all do we need to look for in this class? I know we filled up with them in 2012 class and RF is in this one, and RN is being recruited as Jack supposively, how many will we take or who are we really going after hard?

I dont think Toney is high on our list imo..and RN is 6'5 and 275..Upshaw was 6'2 260..I honestly think RN could be one of the best LB's of all time, if he can stand on his feet and put his hand in the dirt, we could be talking about him for years!

yeah i agree on toney...he is probably a fall back option.

i also agree on RN. he COULD play jack. i hope he doesnt get any bigger if he does

i would think he would be 290 in college which is end all the way in our D. id hate to see him plugging the run and playing gap control when he could be playing jack and living in the QBs grill

The size comparison is comparing apples to bananas. That compares a HS junior to a college senior about to be drafted in the first round.

I understand that..but knowing he runs a 4.6 - 4.7 and has the body type of a LB because he is 6'5 is the reasoning behind that..weight depends on the body type..and both are freaks imo

  • I think RN is jack all the way. Regardless if he hits around 280lbs or not. He has the body to handle that weight and keep his speed. He is so unbelievably quick on his feet and his coverage skills are elite.

Walker Jones will be part of this class, but he also could play H-Back/TE instead of LB.

We typically recruit his type of player as Jack and depending on how they grow and progress might switch them to DE. Ed Stinson is a good example of this, he was recruited and started out as a Jack, but outgrew it and mover to DE.

  • I think Dee Liner may be being recruited as a Jack.

    threepeat

  • Joey Bosa could also be a Jack.

    threepeat

  • Bosa is a DE.

RN could definitely play the jack. That is where I like him best. If he got upwards of 300 he would be a great DE, but I expect him to play the jack.
