Looking at the boogs schedule..

  • Will Cheez last if they only go 7-5...with that schedule!?! I just looked over their schedule and its pretty easy until the last game. 3 other SEC road games other than against us are MSU, MISS and Vandy. Any realistic AU fan would predict a 8-4 or 9-3 record. I can't see anymore than 7 wins. Lets say they do go 7-5. From a reg season standpoint, that would be a 7-5 (3-5), 13-0 (8-0), 7-5 (4-4), and a possible 7-5 (3-5) in 4 seasons. Its logically kind of dumb to do, but I am gonna do it anyway...Take away the only season that Cam attended AU and you would have a 21-15 (10-14) reg season records. Lets see how much 1 SEC title and 1 BCS title can buy Cheez if he does another 7 win reg season. Its comic relief to hear them talk about themselves in the same breath as the elite. But its even better comic relief when they try and knock the obvious elite in attempt to make room for an obvious average team like them. It doesnt consume me like some others, but it does humor me! rtrbol14

    They actually for some reason have faith that Chiz is the man for the job. So... I'd say he still survive's. But they will be in desperate need of a win over Bama at home in 2013 to settle down the grumbling. & that would appear on paper to be their best shot to beat us for awhile imo.

  • Gene Chizik and his yella teeth are what Tommy Bowden wouldve been had he had Cam for a year. Perennial 7-8 win teams with the possibility of the occasional 9 win season that gets the mouth breathers riled up and keeps him around 2-3 more years.

    Of course, losing to Bama year after year won't help him, but they'll have their moral victory, get hyped for the Chik-fil-A Bowl, beat a middle-of-the-road ACC team, and keep Old Yella around.

    My guess is they will play the new coordinator card next season. The OC might catch a little hell though cause he is very green and they have no talent at QB.

    New coordinators will definitely be the excuse this year.

    I will enjoy the Boogs shake their heads in amazement when their defense still sucks in 2012. In their fantasy world these players on their triple digit ranked 2011 D will be a year older and suddenly be an elite defense.

    They were basically a year older by the time the IB came around and they were a disgrace.

    I agree 8-4 I their most likely record. And let's face it, at AU that ain't getting anyone fired. And once every 6 or 7 years they will have a senior laden team and win 10+. That's been their pattern for 30 years and theyre fine with it. that's plenty to keep a coach around 9 or 10 years. Throw in a NC and Chiz has a LOT of wiggle room.

    That's what Tubs did and he was a God down there because he went on a IB win streak. Well those days are gone and they ain't coming back, but Chiz will be fine, thank goodness.

    I think 7-5 is the break even. No shot against the 3 in the west or UGA. I think they split TAMU and Clemson. 6-6 is possible with a bad break, 8-4 with a good one, 9-3 would be a huge season where everything goes absolutely right for them. There's no rent-a-mule coming in this year to bail them out.
