One must remember that aside from Jordan and Pippen, one advantage the 90's Bulls had was Phil Jackson, hands-down the best coach in NBA history. The Shaq-Kobe Lakers enjoyed that advantage as well. I would take the 90s Bulls over the 00s Lakers in a 7 game series, mainly because their defense was better. Had Shaquille O'neal continued playing at the level he played in 2000, I might feel differently, but he wasn't ever up to those standards again in his career. The Lakers simply didn't have a third player on their roster (Horace Grant for the first 3 titles, Dennis Rodman for the 2nd three-peat) that was a true game changer.
