MSU fans are off the CHAIN!!!, I live in MS and the

  • fan base has gone totally nutz!! Over here in MS they are talking some MAJOR smack, I mea MAJOR. I have been told that we have played no one and that we have not played a power house like them this year. It is crazy, I pointed out who they played and what their schedule has been like, that they have not blown out every team and they struggled on several weeker games. I also pointed out that our starters have been out of every game at some time in the 4th QT. These people are planning on bringing in their cow bells to the stadium (which I could care less about) and said they would go to jail rather than surrender them, pretty silly I know. They dont only think they are going to win, they think they are going to dominate us because they are 7-0, thats their reasoning. Now I will say that they have a good team and they have a histor of playing us tough,no doubt, but they do not have better players than us. They have convinced themselves that they have as much tallent as we do. Before we played Ole Miss, It was all quiet,no smack talking was going on. I really dislike MSU I guess because I live over here. Listening to this crap is annoying. They have flags flying all over the place. Vegas sets a spread for a reason, I guess they are looking through their maroon glasses. Yes, this game will be tough, but I still think we come out on top by severl TD's. Their fanbase is out of control and talking SEC Championship and some are talking National Championship.... am I missing something?

  • You're not missing anything. They're the next in an ever-increasing line of fan bases in need of a good processing. It's important to note, however, that the nutjobs represent only a small portion of the fan base. I, too, live amongst the mississippi school fan bases and I have found that the vast majority of their fans are reasonable and anticipate a good game but one that ends like the previous three under Mullen. Single digit to low double digit scoring from their offense and not enough weight in the hind end to stop the tide from putting 28-35 on the board.

  • That much sweeter when they get run out of the stadium. Although I would be willing to bet that if they are saying their starters will be out of the game by the 4th quarter, they will be right about that. biggrin

  • OMG, State has NO room to talk smack. Their toughest opponent to date has been TENNESSEE. In fact, MSU's three SEC opponents so far (Kentucky, Auburn, and Tennessee) are all winless in league play. They are by far the worst undefeated team in the country. They are good by MSU standards but they don't stand a chance against Bama Saturday. Bama by at least 2 or 3 TD's.

  • If I were the MSU fans I would not be talking much smack. The only team in common this year is Tennessee and we know how that turned out. Jax State and Troy are not going to get you many style points. One reason why they are still lower ranked even though they are undefeated.

    I feel your pain. The family that owns the company I work for are all MSU grads. They do their best to hire as many MSU grads as possible..... they've all got a delusion driven sense of confidence. I just look at them and smile knowing that they have no idea what's coming 7:30 Saturday night.

    I am here in Jackson MS and I hear it every day. I tell them that they should drop the opening schedule with Jackson State and all of the other WEAK non conference games. As I tried to explain to them, we schedule 1 elite team out of our 4. We are not able to schedule more, because they will not play us, or want a 1 for 1. They will drop Jackson State off of their schedule and pick up Alcorn State. And being 7-0, they are riding high. But they could actually end up 7-5.Lose to Bama, Lose to LSU, Lose to A t M, Lose to Arky and lose to Ole Miss.
    But I do work with a MS State Alum and booster that bleeds Maroon,and he came in my office today and told me that we are solid in every aspect and only hopes that MSU can look respectable. He does not believe that they can win. But all the others around me have been chug a lugging the kool aid and are drunk. I was here for 6-3 and was sick to my stomach, and never want to see it from them again. They printed bumper stickers with 6-3. I told them that if every time we beat them, we printed bumper stickers and put them on our cars..... you could not see the paint.
    Roll Tide and beat the hell out of the bulldogs!

  • we will hear those bell as they leave the stadium in mass probably in the third quarter but maybe by halftime. it will be much like the tennessee beatdown i suspect.
