I appreciate what CNS has done as much as anybody, but to say it was miracle to get to a bowl in 2007 must be serious hyperbole.

Am I the only one who remembers the text book suspensions and not having enough good football players on the roster to beat La Monroe on talent alone? In 2007 we were in every single game at the end. UGA and LSU were really good teams that we played down to the wire. We will have to agree to disagree as I think the 2007 team greatly overachieved considering new staff, lack of talent, textbook suspensions, team chemistry issues and a brutal schedule. Despite all of that we made a bowl game and won it and then carried that over into 2008 starting one of the best runs in the history of college football.

I think everyone remembers "textbook gate", but we also pummelled Tennessee the day we (fans) found out about the suspensions, which makes it really hard to use as an excuse for losing to ULM.

I agree with all of the off the field stuff, I just disagree that we were so untalented that it was a miracle we made it to a bowl. We're Alabama, even in our worse years we have the talent to compete and win bowl games. 2006 and 2007 are perfect examples of this. There are a ton of players that played and started on that team that helped us do great things in 2008 & 2009.

Surely they dont really believe he is the man. Whats he done since hes been there other than being non-productive? Facts are facts. He hasnt produced at a school with arguably the most resources in the nation and in a conference with virtually zero defenses. And he coaches on offense! Facts dont lie. I wish him well because hes a good guy, but he's laid an egg at Texas so far IMO.

I agree with you 100%. Thats just the word out of Austin. The entire Horn program was blindsided when Muschamp left for Florida. They believe that Major as a head coach would bring an instant connection with HS players and coaches (like they need that here). And yes, UT has more resources and $$$ than anyone in the country at their disposal. Thats why only 2 national titles in over 50 years, playing in that conference, is embarrasing.
