    This isn't a one time phenomena. They have already started paying kids 2 years down the road.

    This would make SMU blush.

    IMO Ole Siss has never been shy about this stuff. (Boosters I should say) They have had delusions of grandeur since they were last relevant in the early 60's.

  • Y'all are pathetic. This looks like a thread on the barn site when coach Saban came in and started recruiting lights out. We had been perennial middle of the road and below for a while and he turned it around. I guess you guys believe coach Saban is the only man in the world that can turn crap into gold. And before you kid yourself, crap is exactly what were dealt after CGS retired.

    Yeah, Saban and Freeze, and Ole Miss and Alabama, definitely have similar track records. Great point.

    Exactly. If Urban Meyer had done this at Ohio State, no one would be making these allegations. Freeze has nothing to legitimately sell these kids which would account for this level of success in his first full recruiting class.

    I could see it more if Ole Miss was a traditional power that had been down and was turning things around. Or if he was a life long fan wanting to restore them to glory. Ole Miss is a traditional "also ran." Yeah, I have a hard time seeing how he could reach out to Tunsil, who wasn't even mentioning them 4 weeks ago, and convince him to bypass UGA and Alabama, where early playing time is available (in addition to all the other things those schools have going that Ole Miss doesn't) and considering he has friends on each of those teams, to go to a bottom level SEC school that is still riding high off of its unexpected Birmingham Bowl birth. Everyone is entitled to his opinion, but that one doesn't pass the smell test.

    Then you & others underestimate what these coaches get paid to do imho. Recruiting is the life blood of the sport. & if Freeze & others aren't pulling this kind of talent. They aren't gonna have a hope in hell of staying competitive in the SEC. & he will be at a Big East school of worse at his next job! lol
