He just went to +2 for the tournament after a birdie at 16. He's 3 under on the day and 2 shots off the lead. Hope he can get 1 more birdie in the final 2 holes and give everyone on the course something to shoot at...either way he's going to have himself a pretty big payday.

Wow...been putting great all day and just pulled an easy birdie putt on 17. On to 18 and hopefully he can get to +1.

He's the leader in the clubhouse at +2. I wish he had made the birdie at 17 as I'm not sure +2 will get it done. +1 would put a little more pressure on everyone else still on the course.

+2 in the house. The guy is a solid pro golfer, and he's still so young. Very proud to watch a Bama alum working his way into a great professional career. I've never had a favorite pro golfer, per se, but I'll obviously be cheering for any Bama guys. It's a lot more fun when they're close to the leader.
Sidenote: It's extremely unlikely, but the way this course is playing, the scores could come down to meet his. Would be pretty cool to see a playoff with him in it tomorrow.

Nerves getting the best of Furyk and Simpson? Need a bogey for Simpson on 18 for sure. Furyk just duck hooked it into the woods on 16.

He will forever remember that missed putt. He'd be in a playoff at worst.
But Mike has a ton of game and will win multiple majors in the future. His putting stroke is so pure and is long enough, that its only a matter of time.
Don't know if yall heard his quote after the 2nd day, but Mike said "My golf coach at Alabama said 'don't be anyone but Michael Thompson' :

Yeah, but Simpson is gonna lift it.
I caddied for Graeme about 10 days ago at Pine Valley and he was hitting it a lot better. Shot 66 with 6 birdies in a row from holes 7-12. I had caddied for him at Seminole for our pro-member and he was struggling hitting it left of left off the tee. Still shot 71, but he's looking much better this summer. I really wanted him to win this today. Shame, but I think I like his chances at the Open in July.

Furyk is done. Looks like Thompson will finish in at least a tie for 3rd...although my guess is he'll tie for 2nd with McDowell.

Yeah, he's definitely one of my favorite pro's I've caddied for.
After he got a bad misread on the 72nd hole, I might putt a call in and see if he needs me at the next event. lol jk

He may about that put he missed on 17 but he was very lucky with the bounce off the tree on 18. But being 2nd is pretty awesome for someone ranked 100+.

Thompson has his full time pga card. But yeah, he's in the US open and the Masters for sure now.
