  • Would love to have 5 first rounders...but I'm not really sure what to think about this guy's list. But, he's paid to write about football and I just watch, maybe he knows what he's talking about.

  • Alshon Jeffery at #9 would be an awful pick. Maybe its Spurrier's fault that he is having a horrific season but to me it appears he is lazy.

  • Where is Mark Barron in this. I would have thought he would be a first rounder, even though safety is not one of those highly sought after position players. He can do a lot of things on defense. I really enjoy watching him play the game.

  • One thing about the mock draft is... well it is never right. No one knows who any team is gonna pick. Look at Mock draft boards every year then see who the teams actually pick usually wayyyy off. They get no. 1 and no.2 right sometimes but after that it is anyones guess. I won't some of these guys back in Crimson next year. Especially DJ

  • Not so sure a out this guy's grade on Fluker. He calls him a left tackle and sends him to the ravens who have Oher at RT. Who knows, no one predicted Carpenter in the 1st last year.

  • I'm not necessarily supporting Fluker's grade, but consider this ...

There aren't too many humans on the planet with his size ... he's programmable and proven to work hard and do what he needs to do to get better.... he is a road grader and the league loves road graders ... I used to think he was the dreaded RTO, but now wouldn't be surprised if he plays guard in the league and with NFL defenses putting so much effort in getting middle push, guards appear to now be getting higher draft consideration.

Just some things to think about.

  • I think barrons 40 yard dash will have alot to do with whether or not he goes in the 1st. Everything he does at the combine should be good.

Massive, very talented, mean streak on the field, great attitude, trusts coaches...five things that can't be taught and don't often come together in the same player. He's gotten a bit of a bad rap for his one perceived weakness, pass protection against speed rushers, but honestly I thought he did a great job against LSU's DEs, who are as good as anybody in CFB at what they do.

I agree about possibly playing guard. I feel like he's shown enough improvement in pass protection that he has the possibility of being a very good NFL tackle, even if there might be times when he needs a TE to help out against the NFL's elite speed rushers, but the downfall if that he would be an absolutely nasty NFL guard. I bet there are some teams, especially better teams drafting later in the 1st who might have older offensive linemen, who could use a high-risk, high-reward guy at tackle who's also a low-risk, very high-reward guy at guard.

  • Fluker, surprised but can understand. Barron not in the first round, I have a harder time understanding. I think a lot of it depends on team needs where our guys go in the first two rounds. I'm very proud of how these young men have developed over the last 3-4 years and look forward to following their professional careers.

  • I know these initial draft destinations are pretty arbitrary, but here are my thoughts as far as breaking down where this dude has our guys going: Trent to the Browns (yuck- trent is going to be a beast but to have to indirectly root for Colt McCoy makes me sick); Dre to the Bucs (absolutely love it- raheem morris is bringing some swag back to that franchise & Dre could be the heir apparent to Ronde); Hightower to the Titans (don't even get me started- the titans have turned into a joke (see chris johnson contract situation); Upshaw to the Bengals (initially despise this- think the bengals is one of the worst run organizations in the league, but maybe andy dalton/aj green will change that); Fluker to the Ravens (if he does declare, home run- Fluker in the Ravens/Steelers rivalry just gets me jacked up)

  • I think DJ gets a little under appreciated because of the perceived notions of RT vs. LT. I think if DJ had the exact same year but at LT we'd all be singing his praises. I think RT has quietly caught up to the importance of LT, maybe not totally equal but close. Which may be why scouts value him a little more than the typical fan.

  • Just food for thought, Fluker is the biggest and second fastest of the top 10 listed OT prospects on the cbssports site. He will fly off the board if he is able to run sub 5.0 in the forty w/decent bench numbers in the 25-30 range, imo.
