Missouri...really?

Joining the SEC will make Mizzou a better football program over the years. I think they'll get b-slapped up and down the field this year but their coaches, administrators, and fan base will realize what it takes to even stay on the field in the SEC and get more serious about their facilities & recruiting. I think it's awesome that the SEC will now get full time coverage in two great cities like Kansas City & St. Louis. At least Mizzou did get DGB in recruiting who will be worth watching the next 3 years before he goes pro.

Yall might be surprised. They are going to beat some teams this year because they throw it 50 times a game. They will beat Vandy and Kentucky at home and IMO give UGA fits in MO as well. I'm hoping the beat UcheaT as well.

No disrespect but they probably say the same about our BB team. Our conference is more than just football! That is why I love the SEC

Baseball lol? Who cares? College sports is driven by football. One college football game probably brings in more money for the college than the entire season of baseball. Hell, football money probably pays the bills to make other sports possible.

Well to be fair, the conference alignment decisions are 100% about football. The NCAA controls the basketball tournament which is the only thing that makes real money in basketball, so the distinction of conferences for basketball is somewhat meaningless.

Conference alignment decisions are also about adding revenue from added television markets. That is what Missouri brings to the table. The SEC is positioning itself for an individual network if needed and Missouri adds big markets to that footprint. Some need to except it and move on. They are in the conference now and that will not change.

When the SEC continues to share large revenue dollars from increased television markets and we continue to build the biggest and best facilities then no one will be complaining anymore.

I think he was referring to basketball not baseball. Could be wrong. However, your right about football. It does drive expansion because of the money it makes. TV markets and media contracts are the reason why football makes the most money. Missouri adds St Louis and Kansas City to the SEC footprint. That's why they are a part of our conference now.

Ya I agree. My point was mainly that most people only care about football. And they really only are interested in other sports if their college is doing well at that sport, at the time.

Correct...and (like my post said) that is entirely about football with basketball as a afterthought if anything and baseball completely nonexistent.

The regular season basketball games make literally pennies compared to football in terms of advertising and the NCAA controls the tournament.
