  • My Aggie Friend who traveled with me to this weekends game was totally impressed by the whole atmosphere at Alabama. He made mention and others did of the Hospitable people, all of the Tailgaters at Denny Chime Park and the way the women dressed there for the game. He said, they all look like they are going on a date. They are dressed so classy. He loved the stadium. He loved the campus. He love Rama Jama. Everything, I just wanted to pass that on. The main problem with the aggies is that they were too damn nice. I was just waiting for some of them to mouth off in the bars and start a brawl. Every single one of them were just as shocked as Bama fans. They were just along for the ride. I couldn't imagine what Vols, Corndogs, or Barners would have been like in that situation.

  • LOL sorry it is not a park, it is where Denny Chimes are. I am tired. It was a long drive home.

  • We have the Bear Connection with them. I have told everyone on here A&M is not like the Shorthorns here. They are a pretty respectful group. Yes there are bad apples at A&M and at Bama but most of them are good people. If it were the Longhorns, they would have been mouthy.

    CircleSeven

  • Us Bama fans were maybe too confident that we would win. In that context we were probably "too nice", like we are to teams like Western Carolina and Western Kentucky. There were definitely a lot of Bama fans asking the Aggies if they were having a good time and was everyone treating them okay. It seemed a little condescending to me.

  • I dont think College Football is about fighting. It is about competing. We are all Americans. Now Auburn, Yea. But the Aggies are our Future Military Leaders. They will treat you with respect when you come here. It was a compliment to all Bama Fans and Alabamianson what I said. Take it like you want

I was impressed with every single Aggie I encountered over the weekend - and I'm not that easy to please. This (and their football prowess) only reinforces what a great get it was to bring aTm into our conference. Now, if only we could lure a Va Tech, NC St or UNC to pay the ACC's 50-million exit fee and join the SEC.

That's because they don't have a history of being beaten by Bama for decades like the rest of the SEC. Check back in 20 years or so and they'll be just like our other rivals fan bases.

  • When Alabama played Texas A&M at Legion Field my wife and I was at the game. It was a nice day and neither one of us had a jacket. As it got dark it got chilly. Some A&M fans were sitting next to us and let us use a blanket to have around us. The Tide one and the A&M couple were so nice through the game and after. Every time I see A&M I think about that night.

  • Thank you for that reply. They are Military Minded. I dont understand why some fans cannot understand that. They think like most Military Americans. Not like Barners. I dont care about check back in 20 years. Good grief. I appreciate your comment. I went to the A&M and Florida Game this year. I always wear my Bama Stuff. EVERYONE of their fans, were like, we want to be like BAMA. They love Bama. They Idolize Bama. Why some people on this board dont understand that I dont know. It his not about HATE.
I have relative on the board at BAMA who has given lots of money to BAMA. I was about to send a check to BAMA from yes, TEXAS, to help BAMA for scholarships, but I honestly hate it when I read a post about, CHECK BACK IN 20 years. Good Grief. But thanks Tide 1 for the good comment. Roll Tide Roll

I'm sure they were the nicest fans that will visit BDS this year. They're probably better behaved over all than Bama fans. I'm just saying that after 20 years of playing each other and beating each other every year, things won't be as nice and peachy between the fan bases as they were this year. Just human nature. Football in the south, and the SEC in particular, is too competitive for the warm and fuzzy feelings that you experienced Saturday to carry over every year. Like it or not, that's the way it is. Name another SEC rival that was as nice to be around as A&M's fans were yesterday. Catch my drift?

Dude, if you want to troll head over to the main board where people will be amused and think you're cool. If you want to stick around and contribute to this board then post something relevant about Alabama football.

No one gives two sh!ts about your BOT family member or the fact the you pretend your feelings are upset over a post on a message board. It doesn't mater to me either way. I'll just put you on ignore once I realize you're a troll.

  • From a BAMA fan who was born in Texas but grew up in Alabama, I want to thank you for sharing your experience as well as the attitude/perspective of your Aggie friends. I have some dear native Texas friends whom I have known all of my life and there are no words that come to my mind which would describe the quality of kindness, goodness and integrity which they possess. I am sure that you and your friends are reflective of all the honorable characteristics of true native Texans. I am proud to have Texas A&M be a part of the Southeastern Conference as representatives of that great state.

  • Sorry but I dont agree with that. Again, most are Military Minded People. I was proud that the BAMA fans applauded their band. I was proud to hear what my friend said about ALABAMA. I really dont care if it is 20 years from now or when, most are good people. Most BAMA fans are good people. It is not always about SEC or whatever. It is about being a human being. If you had heard everything I heard when I went to the A&M and Florida Game, all the praise for BAMA, all of the people at the Bryant Museum saying what a nice campus and BAMA has its stuff together, I think you would think differently. Now Texas, that is a different story. But the A&M fans are different. I can say, I was deeply dissappointed when I saw RMFT stickers. Good grief. Sorry but that is not the BAMA I know. I was embarassed. BAMA does not need stickers like that. We are too classy of an organization to have that printed on stickers.

Sorry if we dont care about the opinions of a Bama fan who calls the Quad "Denny Chime Park."

Glad the Ags had a nice trip. Id hope we would treat them with civility. All i met were good folks. But at the end of the day, their team may have kept us from a national title. So in a general sense, the hell with them.

There were several factors that may have kept our team from another national title but you can not blame Texas A&M for playing their very best game of the year. This team gave us the best they had and came out on top.

Our guys, for several reasons were not up to par on Saturday afternoon. If Bama had played up to its potential they would have won and would still be unanimous favorites to win the national title for a third time in four years. However, there are still some areas where this team needs to grow and improve. I believe in the coaching staff and in the talent that we have. I also believe the team will go undefeated for the remainder of this year and that we will remain in contention next year for another chance to take a run at the national title. But Bama is not the only team competing at a high level and with a lot of pride.

We should always carry within ourselves the heart of a champion and should prove by our attitude and behavior that we deserve to be called champions. I am 60 years old and have been a Bama fan for 50 years for the reasons stated by Circle Seven. If you were representative of the Bama nation 50 years ago, I would never have become a Bama fan.. Just because a fan does not know the proper name of some of the campuses historic spots, that does not make the person less a supporter of the University or its athletic programs than you. There are many supporters of the University of Alabama who were never enrolled at the University or have never visited the campus. Many became fans from having known some representative of the University who treated them with dignity and respect while introducing them to a long history bound in a tradition of pride and class.

I don't know who you are or how you may be connected to the University but you certainly owe Circle Seven an apology for your rude and snobbish comments. I know very few people who would want to be identified with the attitude that you have demonstrated on this board. Champions don't whine and pout when they have been defeated. True champions hold their heads up with pride and class while treating their opponents with dignity and respect.

  • Well said WestGaBama!

IMO, I'm glad ATM is in the conference. Sumlin is a helluva coach. The fans are kind and are not snobs like the shorthorns. They can BEAT IT!

Now Mizzou? They shoulda NEVER been allowed in. FSU woulda made total sense on a competitive level. I don't care about "expanding" to a different market. Missouri isn't in the southeast. And had not proven to add anything athletically to our conference. Though they should've beaten the Jorts 8 days ago in the Swamp. Not saying much there lol
