Guys I'm not being rude, but some of you suck at math. People keep repeating that Cade was kicking from the 40, yeah we get that. Again, it's crystal clear by listening/watching the video above that CF routinely kicked the ball out of the endzone on a regular basis when he hit it between the hash marks (or close to them) just as Saban referenced with hitting a ball straight vs a slice. His kickoffs were PLENTY high enough even with the distance he was producing. Take away the 10 yard advantage and those same long, HIGH kicks on that video would land at the goal line and in some cases, 5 yards deep. Today the guy is hitting anywhere from the 5 to the 15 which is a drastic change for a guy who should be improving with advanced collegiate coaching, not digressing.
The only reason I posted any of this is because of all the post claiming Foster doesn't have the leg etc etc. Kid can mash, period. If he takes care of that stage fright he'll be kicking it a yard or two deep with good height on a regular basis. I'm pulling for him.

If I'm not mistaken some have been stopped before the opponent gets to the 20.

Did you even read the other 500 words of that post or just the last few sentences you're quoting here? Saban said he kills it in practice, but he needs to translate those same results to the field on gameday.
Translation - He's got the physical tools which is why we gave him a scholly, but mentally he's not quite there yet. I want the kid to line up and kill it like he does in practice.

No, I'm not late. I actually have been discussing this issue since last season and have been pushed to the side. Finally, someone has the guts to ask Saban what's up with kickoffs. I have been ignored, told I was wrong, know nothing about football, someone has insider info we kick it like that on purpose, etc. till I'm tired of hearing about it. So no, it's not just the OP. It has been numerous, numerous posters on here believing we kick it short and high on purpose. Finally Saban answers the question and puts this rumor to bed.

some just like to complain about anything I guess. I love our coverage teams so I will only be worried if it turns into points. Florida lived around mid field in the first half after our kicks, but I seem to remember only 10 points given up all day. Not worried and no one else should either. Enjoy watching this team play and be a good fan, I know I will.
