NFL Draft prospect Dontari Poe...

I'm thinking this will be a horrible pick for someone. Kid is now being projected as a top 10 pick based off his combine numbers. I know you can't teach his God-given speed and strength for his size but the football footage I've seen of him is not of a top 10 pick. Project at best. Maybe it was coaching but kid only had 1 sack in C-USA. I could be proven wrong in time but it could possibly be the biggest reach since Darius Heyward-Bey, imo.
Anybody know more about this kid?

I read a little bit on him after he did the combine and apparently the word from coaches in CUSA was that he's a tremendous talent, but his effort was inconsistent... took a lot of plays off.
If someone has questionable effort in college when trying to impress scouts, I'd be concerned how much effort they'll put forth once they have a first round signing bonus in their account.

I hear ya. I thought the very same thing, but I gotta little inside info on Poe today. He's been working out in Az. with other top prospects including Luck. All the scouts got together and did a secret vote on who the most talented guy was and who had the best work ethic. Poe won both votes hands down. When asked why production wasn't better at the college level, the response i got was that the defense Memphis ran didn't allow Poe to maximize his full potential. With the right team and the right scheme, this person said Poe would definitely be a top 3 pick.
