Name a great player who started out at a different postion.

I'll start with RB Robert Edwards from UGA (Mid-90's) who started at DB and when move to RB became a stud and had a very good but brief NFL career. He suffered a virtual career ending knee injury playing in an NFL "flag football" game in the sand in Hawaii.

Qb Brad Smith from Missouri. Has had good career with Jets as a WR and return man.

WR Roy Green of the St. Louis Cardinals of the NFL in the early 80's made the switch from DB to WR and lit up the league catching passes from the likes of Jim Hart and Neil Lomax.

Craig Biggio started out at catcher and ended up playing second base for the Houston Astros in the 90's and joined teammate Jeff bagwell to form the "Bigs & Bags" boys for Houston. If he didnt get 3K hits he came close.

And they were the Killer B's. Biggio, Bags, and Bell.

John Lynch - started as a QB at Stanford
Eric Curry - started off as a LB and finished as an AA DE
Mark Anderson - started at LB
Many CB in college to NFL safety - Ronnie Lott and Rod Woodson (many good years at both spots).

Any Braves fans remember OF Dale Murphy trying to throw the ball back to the pitcher while trying his hand at catcher in the late 70's/early 80's? He would actually hit the second baseman with the throw.

How about Celtics coach M L Carr telling Ben Wallace that he was going to be a shooting guard. He turned out to be a Dennis Rodman like rebounder/defender who couldnt shoot a lick from outside. Oh where are you now M L?
