Need help reference recording Alabama games via HD.

I'm curious as to what av devices BOL members use to record games in HD. Any and all advice is appreciated.

HD Tivo. I also have a HD Burner box to save it to my computer. Can't remember the name of the burner because I'm at work.

Yeah, I've got DirecTV's HD DVR, but I'd like to find a unit that I could run the HDMI into and out of back to the TV. It would be really nice if this device could be networked so that it could stay in my entertainment center.

You could get one of those Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR things, you could capture your DVR content with it.
Or just do the torrenting thing if your OK with downloading and sharing files.

If you're using a Mac, try the Elgato EyeTV HD. It uses component input for full HD resolution, and my Directv DVR will output over the component and HDMI simultaneously.

I have the Hauppauge 1212 PVR and for video quality it cant be beat...
A single game will take up 10-20 gb of space, depending on length of game and bitrate settings. My BCS recordings (and the blu-rays/AVCHD discs you can burn from them) look every bit as good as broadcast HD

+1, thanks guys. I think I'm gonna give myself a Christmas present and get the Hauppauge or the Elgato. I've been looking at those items on ebay.

With the Elgato Eyetv for the Mac, can you burn a Blu-ray Disc or does it only create for iTunes, iPad, iPod, etc.?
