Nervous about Reuben Foster...

  • I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I am getting worried that we really might lose Foster when it's all said and done. I don't have inside information on the issue, but we continue to hear sources talk about it and don't get much from him to refute the rumors. The new tweet today quoting Dee Liner saying Reuben will be at AU just adds to my speculation.

    While I realize one player will not make or break our class or program, I do have to admit that Foster is one of my favorite recruits on tape of any since I have been following recruiting (past 7-8 years). I really hope we find a way to hold on to him, because I think he is a special talent and would really excel in Saban's defense. If I had to choose between him and R. Nkemdiche, I would choose Foster every time.

    It looks like TOS has some info about him up today based on the camp he's participating in. I hope our staff has a chance to get some feedback from him that will help quiet some of the rumors (and make me feel less nervous for the time being).

    And sidenote - no, I don't need everyone to start telling me that I shouldn't worry about what an 18 year old kid is going to do. I realize this really doesn't matter all that much in the big scheme of things, but it is why we pay money to follow this board so let's just keep the hating to a minimum and have some good recruiting discussion!

  • If it makes you feel any better, he's only one player (I realize he's extremely good). If he does decide to go to the barn, fine...We will whip their a$$ with or without him. My philosophy is simple. If the kid doesn't want to be a part of what Saban is doing, that's his Decision There will be many more Nkemdiche's and Foster's.

  • I have no inside info but the barn, in general, is so butt hurt over loosing yeldon and even koundijo that a lot of the rumors is just simply wishful thinking. Who knows though, he could make the big switch and then all hell breaks loose on our side but for the most im pretty confident that its wishful thinking with very little fact behind it.

    Nothing has changed with Foster and Alabama- he's obviously still interested in Georgia and Auburn, but until we let you guys know otherwise, it's all noise at this point and I'd expect it to continue until signing day. Should I copy this response for our daily Foster rumor threads? LOL

    Is Foster expected to be an early enrollee? I've seen conflicting info on this.

    There were also a lot of "sources" that said Auburn was going down. Calm down and enjoy what we have. If he decides to come to Bama, that is great...if not, that will be his issue to deal with. No one knows what will happen with these recruits, so there is no reason getting all bent out of shape on pure speculation. In the end, our staff will put a damn good team on the field with the players that want to wear crimson.
