  • The top QB at camp gets to be the other QB in this class. It's going to be fun to watch this year.

    Why?

depth. why not? just off of film it looks like he could be a good number 2 or 3.

Why take on another lifetime backup? I just question this move considering the limited amount of spots we have left in this class.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

Yeah....hate to belabor this but Dobbs is miles ahead of Mcleod in terms of being the "catalyst" or play-maker of a team where as McLeod is more of a "facilitator" of the offense.

There was rumor of Anthony Jennings at Marietta High School receiving a Bama offer 1-2 weeks ago....which I haven't confirmed to be true. I saw Jennings play 2x.....1x time against Walton and they knocked him out of the game (hit was penalized) on the 1st play of the game and again at the Rising Seniors Game. I think Jennings is more hot/cold hit/miss from game to game....meaning he could win you some games or he could lose you some where as McLeod is more steady and you have a better idea of what to expect from him [than Jennings].

Based on that analysis i would definitely say McCloud is more of a Saban type QB. I just don't see the point in bringing in a guy who doesn't have the physical tools to get it done.

I think all 3 guys I mentioned in my above post are capable of playing at Bama.

Dobbs- I think he has more upside and has the "potential" and work ethic to eventually be a high round draft pick

McCleod- More in the mold of G-Mac. Could pass for more yards but his RB teammate is on the verge of becoming the #1 All-Time Career Rushing Leader in Georgia's largest class....so we really don't get to see him air it out that much

Jennings- Won MVP at the ATL Elite 11 Regional over McLeod, Brice Ramsey, Riley Ferguson, Eddie Printz and others. He has the physical tools but I'm not sure he's shown the consistency game in game out.

  • I saw where Dobbs picked up an offer from Yale a few days ago. Kid must be sharp.

  • Guy in Marietta here with ties...Jennings HAS been offered by Bama. Conditional of course with him coming to throw at camp. As of today, Jennings expects to go to camp. rtr

as I said before depth. you are not guaranteed year in and year out to pickup an elite qb. you can look at some of our past attempts to do so in previous classes. we have depth at every position but QB so I feel its a good move IMO. injures happen so its good to have a few serviceable qbs behind #1 and especially if we miss out on a elite next year which I think could happen after picking up a guy like Bateman. I do understand wanting schollys to be used on high level prospects but I feel its necessary to get 2 this class. its cool to disagree though.cool

  • I know you say this guy has NFL potential but I would seriously consider some of those schools you just mentioned if I were in his shoes. A degree from Harvard, Duke, Stanford etc. is hard to come by.
