My favorite thing about PM is the way he'll get pissed off in a thread and go back and forth with any dissident like the very worst homeboard homer.

While I admit Phillip's buffoonery makes him an easy target, I’m less inclined than some to take a shot because I know a little about his family and traumatic childhood.

Marshall is the son of an Alabama sports writing icon – and friend of The Bear - who devolved into an alcoholic and abusive husband and father. Benny blew his brains out when Phillip was just a boy. The scars left on Phillip and his three siblings – all of whom died at an early age – were easily visible to many of us who knew them.

His writing it seems to me is at least partly driven by his inferiority complex which he shares with most of the Auburn faithful. Personally, I’m glad for Phillip that he has finally found something to hold onto, as shallow and fleeting as it may be.

OK, I am new here, and have heard Philip Marshall's name before joining. What is the deal with him?

OK, I read the article and don't see what the major issue is. If he writes for the barners then he has to say good things right? Or how long will he keep his job? I mean if he says the new DC is a UGA recycle, and the OC has little relevant experience, so hope for the best! How would that go over with them?

I guess I don't get it.
