People new to this board please listen to a person of experience. These "Auburn is going down articles" that people speak of are to be taken as entertainment. DO NOT GET EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED WITH THEM. Most members who post about them are going on valid yet vague information. They are fooled by these writers, bloggers, etc... who are using them to get traffic to their websites. No different than Finebaum floating little tongue in cheek remarks that get people fired up and call his show or listen with the anticipation equivalent to a child waiting for Santa Claus. Several years back, I hung on every word Finebaum said b/c he was a self proclaimed friend of Spurriers, had recently talked to him, & he thought there was a good chance BAMA was going to hire him to be our head coach. Now Auburn may eventually go down, but when people start saying Yahoo or similar are working these stories, that is a definite sign that there isn't much to them. Yahoo, ESPN, HBO SPORTS, etc.... want to be the first to "break" these type of stories and trust me they will make darn sure not to let anything leak out b/c they don't want their competition snooping around their big story. Now we have had at least 2 BARN IS GOING TO BURN mega threads and the 1st ended up being Miami and now the 2nd appears to be MISS STATE. MSU, who has never been that relevant, and MIAMI a team that hasn't been relevent since the early 90's.
i agree.....but miami was relevant much closer in time than the early 90's
Roll Tide to Her
Agreed. Only believe when when you see it, not when you read it here.
If you dreamed you were a sleep and you woke up, would you be awake?
Having watched this for several years now, the threads about the NCAA taking Auburn down, or media coverage of AU recruiting scandals, are a function of two things IMHO. One there are a lot of posters who love to read about bad things that are about to happen to Auburn, and they don't really care whether the things they are reading are true or not. sort of mental masturbation. The other thing is that the people who start these threads either have no understanding of how the media works or are so desperate for e cred they will post anything just to get a long thread and have a lot of people in the first group rave about what a great poster they are, again not caring whether what the post has an ounce of validity.
After all the fighting, we need this!!!
