Ok. You might have a developmental disability.

Huh? Care to explain your statement?

Yes we are. Courtesy of Oregon, OK State, and Stanford.

So you don't think our dominant defense and ball control offense had anything to do with it?

We are playing for a second title in 3 years. People always want the best of both worlds i.e. turbo charged offense and a championship. Fact is, dominant defenses have won the most recent BCS championships. All the teams you named are high powered offenses, with little defense and were all left out of the title game. Meanwhile, our "less powerful" offense is playing for a second national championship in three seasons.

I know some of you think I complain about the offense too much, but our offense now isn't terrible. We just need to tweek the playbook some and get better in-game play-calling.

It may never come out publicly, and I think Saban personally likes McElwain. But I am not sure Saban was 100% happy with some of the decisions McElwain made the past few years and wanted to give someone else a chance to run the offense. He might have encouraged McElwain to look for opportunities, which I think was a good idea. Good luck to McElwain.

The fact that Billy Napier may be going with McElwain seems strange to me considering Alabama would be a much higher paying and better coaching opportunity. At one point people figured he was a candidate to the OC position. This seems to support Saban wanting to improve the offensive staff. OR the new OC may be bringing in some people with him.

If napier may be leaving, this may support the rumor going around that Chris Carter may be coming in with the new OC to coach WR. IF this is the case then I won't complain.

  • You do know we were 1st in offense in the SEC this year don't you?

Please tell me that next years offense will open things up a bit more. Surely with the likes of Carter, White, Shinn, E.Williams, B. Sims, Cooper, Black, and C. Jones along with AJ returning we will see more passing. With 4 returning starters on the OL and CK starting at at LT this offense should be able to flat out move the ball at will. I just hope we see more out of the passing game and utilize all of the talent we have at WR.

I hope we don't. We have a balanced offense as it is. I don't ever want to see Alabama pass happy and depend on the pass to win. I would like to see a few more shots down the field to open up our running a little. RTR

I am all for balance and a 50/50 split of pass and run but I would like to see things opened up a bit more. If we don't see guys like Blake Sims, Chris Black, and Cyrus Jones get the ball in their hands to make big plays then it is going to be hard to continue to recruit these guys. These guys are playmakers and need plays called that will get the balls into their hands in space.

I am not here to argue but Auburn won the most recent BCS championship and I am pretty sure they did it without a dominant D. I think there is more than one way to win a BCSNC and we have seen three different ways the last three years. Florida won with a spread offense and a very good defense. Alabama won with dominant defense and a very good pro style offense. Auburn won with a spread offense and an average defense.
