  • 'What kind of difference would I have made at Alabama or LSU? I'm trying to do something different and trying to make history'. Ole Miss can have him with attitude like that.

  • Can't fault him if that's the way he feels. That's not a character issue in my opinion. Some of these kids just want to blaze their own path. That being said, I hope we crush him!

  • Who knew getting his brother was the key to grabbing multiple five star players. In hindsight, that kid was worth a package deal....especially now since he's a freakin baller to boot. How'd we miss there....hehe...we ole miss'd.

  • Sounds pretty respectable to me. Would've loved to.have him on our d, best of luck to him until they play us. RTR!

  • Well I was talking to my brother yesterday about this, Freeze is class act as far as I know, but when one of the bigger schools comes calling waving more money in his face, RN will be left wandering, why did I come here. I could have been at BAMA with CNS and CKS ROLL TIDE ROLL

  • So he will be a standout player at Ole Piss...he could have done that at Bama or Lswho as well. Little brother and mom is why he is at Ole Piss, period.

    Exactly!

He didn't commit to Ole Miss to blaze a new trail. He committed to Ole Miss because his mother insisted that he play with his older brother.

And if this kid was such a great recruiter for Ole Miss, why did he wait until NSD to commit? I think we know the answer, and it is a big part of why he rubs me the wrong way.

I wish him the best, and I realize he's just a kid. But others have handled their recruitment much better, and with less self-absorbtion.

No, if Ole Miss wins the SEC while he is in school there he will have done something that won't be forgotten.

Whether you want to accept it or not, there are individuals who would rather build something from scratch that jump on board a train.

One might argue that guys like Ingram, Julio and B Jones that committed to Alabama when we weren't coming off 3 BCS championships might fit into that mold.

I respect Nkemdiche for his opinion......and wish him many 2nd place rings

Maybe he wants to lead all the fish in the small pond to try and dethrone the big fish in the big pond.

Not a character issue at all.

  • Freeze is selling at the moment come to Ole Miss and make your own path.....go to Bama and just keep winning is not different, blah, blah. If ole miss wins a few games you cant play the were the little guy card, that might work for a class or 2 but only time will tell.

Different guy--did anyone see the press conference with Machenzie DB that picked Clemson? He was running his mouth a bit about beating the SEC, etc. Bold for a kid that hasnt even had a college practice

I think it's pretty much a consensus thought that RN will be a 1st round pick regardless of where he plays... Like JC... I don't fault him for wanting to play with his brother and try to help a struggling school get back on the map... I'm sure that's part of the reason our 08 class had some of its star power... To get Bama back!

Now on the Freeze thing... He's not going anywhere unless he stops winning, IMO... Guy has been an Ole Miss fan forever.. It's his Dream job... It would be like if you or I were coaching at Alabama... They would have to make us leave.

I don't interpret his words as evidence of a bad attitude. In fact, I agree with him. He can impart a greater difference at Ole Miss than at the University - no doubt about it. If he wants to be a difference maker at the expense of being on a proven championship team, I certainly get it. But, it wouldn't be my choice. All the best to him. He's a tremendous talent.

That's too amicable an attitude for a BOL Ole Miss thread. Could you edit your post and call him lazy and lacking character and on the payroll? TIA

Honest question, What if it was as simply as he wanted to play with his brother? I think in his position I would have. RTR

  • Nkemdiche is similar to Clowney in that it didn't matter where he signed because if he stays healthy, applies himself and stays out of jail he will be a top-5 draft pick in 3 years.

What he doesn't realize is that while at Ole Miss he is going to have to deal with double teams every snap, at Alabama his performance would've been amplified because he'd be surrounded by 4* and 5* kids who also demand attention and he would've been left to destroy everything in front of him and likely would've been in the hunt for some rings while he did it.

    To each their own.
