Obviously we won, but how was there no excessive celebration flag when they piled up in the end zone after their TD?

The rules about excessive celebration are really inconsistent in college football. This being said, I have noticed that the officials allow some leeway on big defensive plays like this one. This seems to be especially true when the celebration is off the field of play versus in the end zone.

I wondered the same thing and then I saw us pile up on Milliner when he scored his pick six and they didn't call it on us either. At least they were consistent in this game. Earlier today I saw a player make an interception and he stood up and threw the ball to the ground and they threw an unsportsmanlike flag on him. It was really stupid. It is way too subjective.

agreed. I thought we were going to get flagged.
I missed their kickoff return I'm assuming that's the TD your referring to.

Defensive and special teams touchdowns seem to get a lot more leeway with excessive celebration than offensive scores do. To me, as long as the players aren't dancing or taunting the other team, the referees should let it go.

Agree with everything you said and thought the refs made the right (no) call on both plays. And yeah, our defense basically did the same thing after the pic-six.
