It is right past the airport in Kenner. It's about 15 miles from downtown. It's fine but definitely a haul. I just posted how to get a room at the Residence Inn which is right downtown and where I would stay if I didn't live here. It is in the warehouse district so it's between the expressway and poydres. It would be a good place to stay with kids. There are 5 2-bedroom suites available and they are going for a special rate of $499/night.

jl92, thanks for all of this. My dad and daughter are arriving at the airport on gameday at 1:00. Will it be a nightmare to run pick them and get back into town? If so, any idea what the airport rate is to Conv center area? Again, thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's $40 flat rate plus $10 each additional person. If you drive....Take Erhart expressway to Airline which takes you to the airport and then take the same way back. Erhard will run directly into the Dome. Don't take I-10 back in on gameday....I imagine it will be pretty backed up then!

It's on St. Charles as you head uptown - about .5 mile from Lee Circle. It's a $5-7 cab ride from the hotel, or you can take the street car. It's really close to where you are but not worth walking. If you can go there do it...you'll be thrilled. Everything on the menu is amazing. Best Filet and Porterhouse or Ribeye anywhere (personally I recommend the Filet) - the Spinach Salad is ridiculous and they usually have some sort of special like a Soft Shell Crap appetizer that will blow your mind.
If for some reason you can't get a table....which is possible...go to Ruth Chris right by Harrah's....it's the 2nd best steakhouse.

Mr johns is the spot. Make your reservations now, or you won't get in. don't wait til next week.

Get there by 6 our wait a couple hours outside.
