"That's the way it goes. But don't forget, it goes the other way too."
My wife woke me up @ 0545, telling me "It's time to go to the hospital. I've been having contractions since 2--and now they're 5 minutes apart." Ben IV was born at 2050 that night. A long day, but what a blessing!
I pray everything goes smoothly for y'all--and a big Roll Tide to ya.
19 hours for us. She was induced the same night we won the softball championship vs Oklahoma, after the rain delay and Bama took the lead I was yelling and jumping around so loudly the nurses burst in thinking the wife was having problems...haha nope just rooting for the home team (we were in Augusta, GA). We did run into some labor complications and ended up staying 11 days in the NICU but it's all good now.
Welp, I'm still deciding on whether or not I should start my very own "new bama cheerleader" thread, but I figured I should follow-up on this one at least. She was born Sunday night at 10:19pm. My wife had kicked me out of the bedroom because I guess I was too loud?? Anyways, per her advice, I wasn't timing contractions, etc. So I finally went in to check on her and timed about 15 minutes worth... and I realized she was about 2 minutes apart. We went to the hospital and she started pushing as soon as she hit the bed. Baby was born 40 minutes later.
AND... here's something crazy... the water never broke! The baby was being born with the water bag still intact. The nurses told me its extremely rare and its a pre-req in order to be the Dali Lama. But then baby's heart beat diminished so they broke the bag and yanked it out.
Really proud of my wife. Its our first and she did it completely natural and without even any professional help since we were basically at home the whole time! I'm unsure if anyone cares, but I'm telling everyone... ;)
Admitted at 9pm, 13 hours & 4 tall boy Monsters later Levi Bryant arrived... Actual pushing just over an hour.
Best of luck and congratulations to you & your wife!
First one 10 hours, second one about the same, however she did both with no pain meds and rocked it both times.
