OT: Need 2 Masters Monday tickets

  • I am going for the first time. Does anybody know where I can find 2 reasonably priced tickets for Monday's practice round? Is Ebay the best place? Thanks in advance.

  • A buddy and I went the first Moandy after Tiger came back. Depending on what you want to do, I'd say buy them there. Honestly, the cheapest way to do it is to go in at lunch. You still have a good 8 hours to walk the course and you can get in for next to nothing. People selling badges close to the entrance are pretty much done for the day and will take almost anything to dump what's unused. We got in for $20 per person, walked the course twice, and then camped out on 16 to watch the guys skip balls across the pond. I was worn out so I couldn't imagine going for the whole day. We got in with enough time to see Tiger on his last 2 holes. The only drawback to going in at lunch is you may miss some of the morning tee time guys. Anytime I go over for a practice round, I'll get there around 11:30 or noon - JMHO

    If possible go on Tuesday- not everyone is there on Monday if they played previous tournament on Sunday, Wednesday isn't the same due to the Par 3 contest. Tuesday is the best day in my opinion. And get in there as soon as they open the gates- I think the best part of experiencing Augusta is when it's quiet and the suns not all the way up yet- kinda mystic like....

  • Normally you can do a little better "on site" in Augusta if you are going to be there anyway. However, if you want the tickets before you go to feel more "secure" about getting in, you will pay a premium.

    good points, but you will pay more on Tuesday. also, some people like the par 3 contest because you see the players more "up close and personal". However, I am with you and enjoy seeing the real golf course.

  • You can get them here in Augusta. They'll be everywhere. Some guys at work have gotten some Monday and Tuesday tickets for around 80 bucks each... After lunch, you can get them for free from folks leaving. Alot of people go Mon - Wed just to check out the course early in the AM (especially Monday), then leave for the day. They are there for Thurs-Sun.. If you wait til noon, you can prob get in afternoon for free. I am going Fri and Sat. I went from 90-2001 every year. Havent been since then. 11 years! Now I live here. No excuses. Most beautiful place I've ever been. If you need a place to stay I have 5 bedrooms.

  • Dny, thanks for the info. I would LOVE to run across some $80 tickets. The going rate on Ebay is around $300 for one ticket. My brother and I are coming for the first time from Virginia. We really don't want to wait until after lunch because we only have one day there. We are coming in Sunday and leaving Tuesday.
