OT-Udonis Haslem said what? lmao

  • "Like I said, I made a play on the ball and...my rap sheet speaks for itself. I've never been a dirty player, never been called a dirty player..Never...in this league for 9 years. The only thing people say about me is that I competed hard and I bring it, nobody's ever called me dirty"
    Note to Mr. Haslem:
Dont want to be called a dirty player in the future? Try not using ridiculous parables or phrases like "rap sheet" when trying to convince others of your innocence. If your "rap sheet" does indeed speak for itself, then just by having one at all would convince me your wrong, lol.
Apparently he was called for flagrant tonight and happened to see his quote after the game, but havent seen the play yet. Honestly, I didnt need to after I heard this quote from him. Made me laugh is all, Carry on BOL!

  • I watched the play live. It was dirty as hell. He made no attempt on the ball and used 2 hands and smacked his face he was nowhere near the ball. Should have been a flagarant 2 and ejected from the game. Especially when comparing the other flagarant 1 foul that was called minutes before this one.

  • I was watching last night when it happened, and the refs blew the call by calling it a flagrant 1. It was a dirty play and obviously intentional.

  • It was no more intentional than Hansbrough's foul on Wade. Both were dirty plays and were officiated properly.

I imagine that Hansbrough, Haslem and Pittman will all get fines along with both teams getting a warning that they are under a zero tolerance policy from here forward.

I agree. However, it will be lumped in with the other 2.

I wouldnt say that. The Hansbrough foul he actually hit ball(so you could say he made a play on the ball) its just Wade brought the ball down so he did make contact with the head so they called flagarant 1. Which i thought was the right call.

Haslem made no attempt on the ball and went straight for the head. Easy call and should have been flagarant 2.

No, no, no. Hansbrough's was totally different. He definitely got Wade in the head but he was making a play on the ball. In fact, he got part of the ball but also got Wade on the follow through. Wasn't dirty.

Haslem and Pittman's were completely dirty. Neither made a play on the ball or were anywhere near the ball. Haslem used two hands to mug Hansbrough in the face in a clear act of retribution, ball was nowhere near where Haslem went, while Pittman simply elbowed the guy in the neck while neither player even had the ball. Pittman even winked at someone after, saw it live.

Haslem's and Pittman's should have been flagrant 2's. I didn't even think Hansbrough's was a flagrant 1 but was ok with it. I think you'll see by the NBA's reaction that I'm right.

Probably right, and unfortunate for TH.

In the context of the game in its entirety you can't separate the foul that warranted retaliation.

Hansbrough brought blood and nearly took a player out of the game.

Ultimately, Hansbrough was called for a Flagrant 1 just like the other 2. Every thing else is opinion regarding what happened. You won't see the NBA use opinion when it comes to fines or suspensions. You will see them lump them all in together.

  • You're reaching too hard with this one. UD is one of the best guys in the league. Always been a team leader and never got into trouble on or off the court. So what if he said rap sheet. We all knew what he meant.

"warranted retaliation"? The foul by Hansbrough did not warrant retaliation(IMO). It didnt even look bad live. Looked more unfortunate than anything. And Haslem was an idiot to do that cause now he is likely going to be suspended for game 6.

And probably Pittman as well, i mean he went directly at the dudes throat.

As far as Hansbrough i would be surprised if anything happened to him whether a fine or suspension. As i do not see either warranted. IMO.

The Pacers have been trying to prove how tough they are all series. Everyone talks about how they love old school basketball. Well that was some throwback stuff last night. Ud was just protecting his go to guy. The pacers have been in Wade's face all series.

  • Havent seen last nights' controversial fouls but I remember Haslem trying to rough up Gerald Wallace at Coleman in 2001 while with Florida. He would try to hit Wallace with an elbow to the body whenever he set a pick on him. You could tell he wanted to be extra physical with the top recruit in the country and I recall thinking that guy is a thug.

Youre the only person in the world who thinks Ud is a thug. I hate when people use that word to describe someone based on how they play a game. You are 100% wrong.

Exactly. Then Bird calling them Soft after the game doesn't help the impression that Hansbrough's foul was merely unfortunate.

Exactly. Hansbrough getting called for a flagrant 1 was a little harsh but he did draw blood and it was pretty physical, even if he did go for the ball, so it wasn't a bad call.

Haslem and Pittman simply mugged their guys with no attempt at the ball...none. Those two were completely different and I'd be surprised if TH receives any more punishment while I'd be very surprised if Haslem and Pittman don't.

  • Classic case of bullies don't like when you fight back. They have been grabbing, holding, and taking "hard/dirty" fouls the entire series and Miami tried to play above board. Miami got sick of it and hit back. Pacers couldn't take it, got their ass whipped, and went home whining. Seeing Granger leave game was rewarding too. So tired of seeing his Lebron envy spew off onto the court. Last night was really as simple as the Pacers can dish it but can't take it.

I wouldnt call him a thug at all. I have seen him play for many years and have never seen him make a play like this. But this play along with Pittman was dirty and intentional which is likely to earn both of them suspensions for game 6.

That's all well and good but now Haslem and Pittman could face suspensions. Haslem's was dumb, Pittman's was unbelievably dumb. They were up 35 with like 30 seconds left in the game. They should have stayed cool, just beat their ass on the court, and left the dirty fouls alone. The Pacers haven't done anything as dirty as what those two did last night.

I've never liked Hansbrough and don't have a feeling either way towards Haslem or Pittman but I'm just calling it like I saw it. Will be interesting to see what Stern does.

  • Ever since the Heat got their ass whipped by the Mavs in last years finals, they have turned into to the old Hurricans, a bunch of thugs. Does that not tell you something about the teams in Miami?

    bama1962

  • Haslem's foul on Hansborough was definitelty a flagrent 2 ,as he never made a play on the ball and hit Hansborough with both arms in the face, even the announcers couldn't believe that it wasnt a 2 and stated he should have been kicked out and suspended for the next game. Now we'll see what king of b...., the league has.
