Look Les has his issues but not punishing his players severely isnt one. Why even do a random drug test on your team and make it public if you arent going to punish them? One game for smoking weed is beyond weak. If it was something worse they are done for the regular season. Les doesnt go for this kind of crap. He also has to worry about the programs image for recruiting. Parents and most kids.dont like out of control programs.
I say their out for Bama unless Les is virtually threatened with his losing his job.

Exactly. The Colt thing is already almost forgotten. When Texas fans defend Mack on message boards, they say "he won an NC and lost another" with no mention of Colt. They mention getting screwed by the tiebreaker in 2008 instead. This would be forgotten even more quickly.

But if you're a surface fan and you just look at the list of winners you might forget it. But the real fans who gather and talk things over don't forget stuff like this. I guarantee you, you can hook up a discussion with a strong Texas fan in 2050 and unless he's senile he's gonna bring up the Colt McCoy injury lickety-split when you start talking about that game.
And guess what, the Bama-LSU game at least potentially figures to be a much bigger game in college football history lore than the Bama-Texas BCS game. Hell, that wasn't even the biggest game that year. UA-UF in SECCG was for the real championship and even got bigger Nielsens.
