Ohio State's Schedule next year...

  • Has anyone ever seen a more joke of a schedule for a potential pre-season top 10 or top 5 team in a BCS conference? IF Ohio State goes undefeated, they will play for the national championship against an SEC team and I think you will see a beat down similar to what Notre Dame got this year. They should be required to win every game by double digits to even qualify for the national championship with that crappy of a schedule.

I wonder if CUM will retire again if he makes it to the Title Game and has a 4-5 TD loss?

And think about it. Had Ohio State not been on probation this year, it would have likely been Ohio State vs Notre Dame for the national championship. Can you talk about injustice to the SEC schools and Oregon had that happened? LOL

  • It would be a dream come true to rip Ohio State a new one in the BCSNCG. It definitely looks possible next season. Their season was sort of like Notre Dame's, they played a bunch a crappy teams and barely beat a bunch of them. It will be the same for them next season imo.

  • I had this conversation 3 days ago with someone after looking at their schedule. Garbage schedule and I can see them going undefeated then exposed against the SEC in the BCSNCG. Mirror image of ND this year.

  • The most interesting thing will be if Michigan is good. Could have to face them in back to back weeks.

Here is a link to help out...

  • Of the 12 teams they play next year...

7 of the 12 had losing records
4 of the 12 lost 8 or more games

Now for the 5 teams they play that had a winning record...

One of those is San Diego St.
One was Penn St., which sadly is about to hit the bottom of the cliff soon
One is Wisconsin, that just lost their head coach.

Their two toughest games next year will likely be Michigan and Northwestern, how pathetic is that???

We would probably be at least a 3 TD favorite in every game next year if we played Ohio St. schedule

Exactly what I was going to say. They played a garbage nonconference schedule and almost lost to Cal-Berkley (who went 5-7 in the PAC 12 and fired their coach after the season). Heck, UAB played Ohio State hard. Michigan nearly beat them as well and we saw what we did to Michigan. The tOSU schedule next year is even worse. I'd love to drill them in Pasadena if we make it there. Don't like Meyer or the Buckeye fans. They hate us as much as Michigan.

CUM had a very weird expression on his face at halftime. I think he realized he still has to beat Nick Saban's Alabama juggernaut to accomplish anything. I believe he was very happy not to be playing Alabama in that game.

  • Just like I was rooting for Notre dame to win out. This would be the easiest game for us.

  • Meyer is certainly a good coach based on his total body of work, but something about him irritates me to no end. He obviously left FL because he couldn't compete with Saban. To me he is just a coward and a sore loser who could barely give Saban/Bama any credit the other night at the game. I know I shouldn't feel this way but I just plain can't stand the guy.

You're right. I hope we get to kick his ass again.

I know I am going to get bashed and everyone is going to say look at his overall record and 2 NC's and undefeated record at Ohio State, but I still think he is the most overrated coach in the nation. He can't handle losing. Goes to Utah when Alex Smith was already there (didnt have to recruit him). Leaves Utah and goes to Florida and wins his first national championship because of a heavily talented defense that he DIDNT recruit. He then has one of the top 10 college football players of all time land right in his lap; and yes Tim Tebow was always going to Florida no matter who the coach was there so dont tell me that was Meyer recruiting him. Without Tebow during the three years after the first national championship Florida likely average 8 wins a season tops. He then loses Tebow for his last year at Florida and goes 8-5 with about 3 20+ point losses and retired due to supposed heart problems (we all know the real reason he retired). Suddenly, a year later, he is suddenly healthy enough to coach again and has the Ohio State jobs just waiting for him on a silver platter (with another former #1 overall duel threat QB on it again that he didnt recruit). Worst year ever for the Big 10 conference and Meyer barely beats every garbage team he played to go 12-0. Sorry but the guy is overatted in my books. When he actually stays at a school 5+ years, wins consistently with and without his recruited players and is able to win when he doesnt have the best duel QB in the nation sitting in his laps, then I might change my opinion, but not until then.

  • Wow, now that's a soft schedule. Still, the chances are that they lose a game. Penn St, Northwestern, Wisconsin, or Michigan could get em. In any case, that schedule is pitiful. You know your own conference sucks, and you schedule Cal Berkeley as your big OOC game?!

We have to play aTm, LSU, and the Eastern Division Champ. That's three top ten teams. OSU's schedule can't touch that.

The Big Ten is absolute garbage right now. Ohio State is the best program. Michigan is good but not great. Definitely not as good as the Michigan teams of old when they had Brady and others. Iowa is down, Penn State is about to go into an endless abyss, Michigan State is average, Indiana, Illinois Purdue and Minnesota are bad. Wisconsin is the closest thing to a real contender they have in their division but they have a new coach and Montee Ball is going to the NFL. Nebraska is pretty good on offense but their defense isn't great at all (gave up 70 to Wisconsin and 45 to Georgia in the bowl game). OSU misses out on them this year unless they meet for the conference title. Sad to say in their conference that Northwestern is a legitimate contender.

  • Even more than USC was this year, I think they are a shoe-in for the NC game.

Which means they'll prolly lose three games.

Seriously though, I think Cal could be interesting because they are going to be uptempo, spread offense which means the Buckeyes will have to tackle some elite athletes in space. And then there is that brutal BG10 schedule. I'm sure there is a trip-up game in there somewhere.

Ugh, we have earned it. Three very recent national championships victories and the closest game was a 16 point win. Ohio State is different in that they get blown out in big games typically. I'm sorry but until somebody beats us in the NC game, good luck keeping us out based on schedule. We have a MUCH better argument.

Cal dosen't have very many elite athletes especially with Keenan Allen going pro. They are very mediocre at best. Tedford did a poor job toward the end of his tenure in recruiting, developing and winning games. Up tempo or not Ohio State is much better than them. Still could be interesting with it being played on the west coast.

  • I believe after next season jtheir schedule picks up considerably out of conference with the new play off system taking SOS into account as one of the contributing factors as to who makes the final four..

In other words play FSU's schedule from this past season and get in and you may not make the playoff even if you go undefeated. Teams serious about winning a title are going to have to take some chances,

  • It would be a dream scenario if we get Ohio St for all the marbles next year. We beat Texas for it all, pissed in LSU's cheerios, monkey stomped Notre Dame, and now we might get to molly whop Ohio State?! Too good to be true, let them play Savannah St 12 times for all I care, just let us play them for the title
