Ok so which position do you micro-analyze to the point...

that you miss most of the play? For me it's defensive end. I get fixated on it to the point I see nothing else until the ball is released or the QB goes down lol. Anyone else guilty of this?

End is a good one. Maybe just the offensive lineman in me, but I sometime do the same thing with Warmack.

I always watch the CB's. It's both my favorite position, and the one I understand best. It's also a position where we are technically very very good. Better than any other college team I've ever seen.
On offense, I tend to focus on the RB's pass blocking.

On O, definitely tackle play. Love watching Fluker.
On D, definitely Mosley when he's on the field. Works out well because 9/10 times you end up where the ball is.

Not gonna lie, I watch the ball the whole time. Later during replays I will watch certain players but 90% I watch the ball.
It wasn't until I heard Coach Saban speak at an event one time until I truely understood the role position coaches play. During the game these coaches do what most of you do and watch their specific players and what happens with them. When they see weaknesses at certain pointst this can aid in play calling. I am guilty of getting coaght up in "playstation mode" and just think they are calling plays to call plays but the "process" is so great that it works. Maybe some of you should sign up as coaches or GAs, HA.
