Ky and Mich OOC. A&M (loss), LSU(should have been a loss) and Miss. St.(front loaded schedule of stiffs) were the 3 SEC teams with winning records. Arguably, the East is the better overall division.

I really don't follow Philips comments in threads very often, but that thread is full of Philip "win" (minus him taking his shirt off).

I agree but that is what he honestly thinks apparently.

There is a hidden statistic in what I posted, and it is that the two teams out of the six that only played 2 ranked SEC teams (UGA and UA) played in the conference title. So, in a way, he does make a valid point.

But, this ignores three things:

One, even though they all had more chances than UA and UGA, the other teams still only managed to win one ranked SEC game (the notable exception is Florida, who has clearly the best record, but fails both the eyeball test and the "win when it counts" test. They also caught teams at the best times.)

Two, when starting by talking about how Alabama "might or might not be the best team," it is moronic to throw out the SEC championship. A game between ranked teams, with no layover, is a clear indicator of those teams' quality.

Three, it was only a "down year" because of the lower ranked teams. The six ranked teams lost ONLY to each other in the regular season, major non-conference tilts included, with the lone post-season loss being LSU's boneheaded game. If TAM, UF, and UA all win, then the top of the conference should probably be viewed as being dominant, and the losses just due to parity.

I read the whole thing. That's completely indefensible. He even deleted the post bitchslapping him for his annual "exceeding expectations" column.

Phillip writes a column every spring, including last spring after the blowouts, pumping up auburn's coaching staff for exceeding expectations ("young," "talented but inexperienced," etc.). TF pointed out that PM was busy tearing down Mullen for winning 8 games, probably because he couldn't spin out an "exceeding expectations" column for auburn 2012.

Wow... It looks like "the future" guy's posts were all deleted.... banned? Do you have any idea how mad I would be as a paying member if I got canned for disagreeing with a writer? Heck, I get mad when a post of mine gets moved to the water cooler when Shane's workout threads get to stay up. Butt hurt?? Absolutely.

Every SEC team that has a shitty year starts whining about how the entire conference is down and blah blah blah blah.

6 teams in the top 10 BCS and Phillip thinks its a down year for the SEC. Hmmm, what would be an up year?

Honestly I think Marshall is just that big a homer. He isn't capable of being rational about auburn. He'll be buried with a case of Charmin.
