It was a very pro-Bama post and he fell on his sword to prevent embarrassment to Rivals and most importantly Bol. He's a good guy doing his job. As soon as he had info that showed it isn't a violation he updated. I understand skepticism with most of the al.com guys but Matt Scalii has earned our trust. He's not muck raking.

Oh whatever, he wrote an article citing a blog and then speculated based on that blog and made a determination that was completely inaccurate with regards to the actual rules (which is kind of his job to get it right). I guess somebody that knows what they are doing corrected him and he revised it a day later.

Look I don't hate the guy or anything and I am sure he is goog person but it's obvious criticism here in this particular instance is more than justified. If you can't take the heat, then get the story right and don't cite crappy sources. That's all.
