I was talking with a friend of mine over the weekend who is a scout for a NFL team. Just talking college football and getting his opinion and some other opinions he has heard on what teams look like coming out of the spring. Of course they are looking for individual guys but they are going over a lot of film coming out of spring and can see what teams look like as a whole by judging talent.

He said as far as he is concerned Bama is on a level that is just so far ahead of everyone he has seen, he said it was like night and day compared to other programs. He said the closest team in talent wise to us right now would be FSU...just judging on the hoof talent. He said of course LSU would be right behind FSU along with UGA. He is not sold on LSU's QB situation, doesn't like their WRs and feels like their LB corp is going to be a hole in the D. He hates the LSU Offensive plan and direction. Described it as something a JV coach could poke holes in all day. He said all the talk about USC shouldn't last long and if they had to play Bama or LSU they would get run a$$ over. They are just too weak on D and their O line would be abused. He likes OU a lot. Does not like our first opponent Michigan...he said if that games stays under 17 Michigan should view it as a moral victory.

He said he thinks most media doesn't give Bama a chance to repeat because they know how hard it is to repeat but if they really looked at the talent on the field and how it has being prepared it shouldn't be that way. He said Clemson looks all world till they start hitting and working on drills similar for FSU. Pro scouts can't tell much about what Oregon has that their practices were so discombobulated and all over the place that nothing makes sense and players don't work any fundamentals.

He said Bama looked like a machine going through their spring and their only hole is on O and that's the other TE/HB that is really vital to our game planning. He said even CNS was concerned and that it was a must have to find someone to fill that role. He had other opinions on other teams but none really mattered. He did say that Bama is probably the only team that won't rely on a freshmen coing into fall camp to fill a hole either starting or on the 2 deep. Nothing earth shattering but he put it into perspective from someone who has to look at a lot of film. His opinion was that coming out of spring Bama and OU will play for the NC.
