  • After an unlikely title won on the back of a once in a lifetime player, they really do think success is so simple. A defense that was atrocious last year suddenly becomes a dominant defense? Why? Plug in a new DC and some magic suddenly happens? Frazier, who apparently didn't know there was such thing as a forward pass last year, is suddenly going to become a NC caliber quarterback? Give me a break. After Cam, they want results without the process. Unfortunately for them, it usually doesn't work that way.

Even if we are only relatively healthy, I believe we go 10-2 in the regular season with a loss to LSwho and GA, while working alabama in the IB. We all know the first step to winning a game is the line of scrimmage, and I believe we will own this defensively. The O-line is going to be interesting as position battles play out and they begin to gel, but I think we can lean on the defense, which would have been crazy to say at some points last season, the first few games to give them time. If we can find a third reliable target for Frazier, who will probably when the QB battle, to throw to, then our offense will certainly find itself. The only set back I think having two new coordinators will present, is Chiz won't get the credit he deserves. I think, like many on here, that this year really lays the foundation "ON THE FIELD and in the eyes of the media", that Auburn is going to be a player for the NC for at least the next couple years. So full of fail! When as in Win???? Really?

WHEN he says they will work Alabama...i think he means work FOR Alabama

I think the plan is to "work" our strength of schedule and cost us a NCG berth.

  • Let's not forget Cheezit's favorite saying,"We have a very young team..."

How can they be young EVERY year? Oh, I forgot...when you have multiple players arrested and some to transfer...I guess you fill those holes up with more Freshman.....who probably won't make it more than a couple of years. Aubarn has become the poster child for keeping the numbers down!!

  • You had to figure this kind of post was coming. After all, it has been several months since the season now, and the dimwits on the plains (and their selective memories) have forgotten just how badly they were beaten by 4 sec opponents last season, the same 4 that are on the schedule this season. The want to think that some journeyman DC is going to make a huge difference for them defensively. They spent years pointing at Ted Roof, and claiming that they'd be on par with Alabama if they could just be rid of him. He's gone now, but the same bunch of stiffs that got shoved up and down the field all year return. They don't have one linebacker or DB that would ever see the field at Alabama. It is even grimmer on the offensive front though. We're talking about a team that returns NO experience whatsoever at tackle. They seriously don't have one tackle on their team that has played a down of SEC football, from what I can see. The other positions aren't so grand either. The Auburn fans like to pretend that it will be easy to replace Michael Dyer, but he wasn't rated as the top RB recruit in the nation by accident, and WAS their offense last season. Also ran types such as Tre Mason, Mike Blakely, and (the traitor) Corey Grant aren't going to get it done against SEC defenses. They return all of their receivers, which may or may not be a good thing, considering how bad they were last season. Starting with Emory Blake (who didn't catch a pass in his final two regular season games) and Trovon Reed (he of a whopping 7.8 yards per catch average). In short, it is another area that makes you wonder if you are looking at Mississippi State's depth chart. And then we have quarterback, where their best bet is Kiehl Frazier, a guy that is likely to make their fans long for the days of Kodi Burns.

It is hard to see this team winning any more games than it did last year. Especially with new offensive and defensive schemes being implemented, and assuming Frazier starts at QB. I remember reading before the 2010 season that one (anonymous) recruiting guru said that Alabama's program was "light years ahead of Auburn's". Cam Newton's miracle play delayed that one year, but we saw last season just how far apart the two programs are, and I don't see anything changing this year.
