PM prepares the masses

  • for another long season. Seems kind of early, even for the barn.

I keep reading that they will be better as the season goes on. Duh, wont everyone? Last year 2012 was going to be their breakout yr and already now its going to be 2013. I remember reading a similar, or exact, article from PM last yr.

Anyways, flame me for reading barn stuff but I enjoy reading their crap, especially when they are down.

  • It is funny how they are completely oblivious to the attrition problems they have. They have lost so many players from Chiz's "top" recruiting classes. It's clearly not an isolated incident, but rather a pattern resulting from the types of players they recruit, the way they recruit them, and the way they coach them. I've reached the point that I'm just not worried about losing a recruit to Auburn. These kids who think playing for Trooper Taylor is more appealing than playing for Kirby Smart or Nick Saban just have no appeal, regardless of their stars. Auburn gets a high 4 star Enrique Florence, Bama gets a 3 star Vinnie Sunseri who only got a scholly because of his dad. How'd that one turn out? It's just one example. Both sets of coaches do a great job of getting players who buy into their respective systems. The difference is clearly in the systems these coaches employ.

  • First I love how he brings up auburn can't win without Cam. Tells me that they know it's what the rest of college football thinks. He is trying to quell the fears of the followers of the cult. Then he goes on to say Jim was left with nothing when he got there. So does that mean Jim won the title with Tubbys players and not his?

  • I'll say it again, winning that National Championship is probable the worse thing that could have happened to them. They actually believe in their minds that they are now equal to Bama and they will forever do whatever (Trooper) it takes to get back, which will end in NCAA disaster. Maybe not now but down the road they will burn. I also see them burning through head coaches from now on, trying to get back that magical 2010 season.

CL have said since Trooper went to the barn that it would not matter who they signed because they couldn't develop & as bad as UT was for letting players do what they want the barn looks to be much worse. For all the blame Tubs has got from PFD once his players were gone the program has become worse & looks to be sliding further into the bottom of the SEC. A good example is Foster & the post I read where he looked to be the 3rd best player on his team & looked out of shape. The icing on the cake is the NCAA looking into the barns recruiting & the constant negativity that surounds the program.

nice post except for one thing. Sunseri did not get a scholarship because of his dad. Vinnie EARNED his scholarship.

  • "As Auburn prepared for the 2011 season, four players remained from the Class of 2008 and three from the Class of 2007. Gene Chizik had a team made up of three recruiting classes, one of them being an abbreviated class in 2009 and another being new arrivals from the Class of 2011.
And that's why the building process really began right there. That's why three true freshmen were in the playing rotation at defensive tackle last season, why a redshirt freshman and true freshman started on the offensive line last Saturday against Clemson." PM

Well what about the 2010 class? How have they developed as players? Why has Auburn struggled to fill their Scholarship limits in the fourth year of a coach?

Staff if we ever end up in a similar situation please do not write an article like this! We will know that we are a struggling program.

  • I don't care what the BOL staff thinks of PM. He is a complete idiot if he believes the stuff he writes.
On the flip side, if he's just trying to make some $ he's a genius and his cult followers are idiots.
    Or maybe they're all idiots.

Completely agree. For some reason they don't understand why they have to start so many young players. Chizik has had 4 highly rated recruiting classes but they are still "very young". The more he loses the more the masses will open their eyes to the problems they have down there...lack of discipline and lack of player devoplmemt. I could be wrong but I honestly think this week vs MSU is one of the most important games Chizik has had while at awbarn and here's why. Rather they want to admit it or not, many awbarn fans are still wondering if Chizik is the right man for the job long term. Deep down they know the verdict is still out on him and if awbarn loses this week MANY fans who feel this way will turn the switch off and admit that "we need a new coach"...the same way I did when Shula blew the Arky game his last year. I think awbarn wins this weekend but if they don't then you watch...things will start to get VERY ugly for Chizik.

  • What will he be saying when Coach Dye fires Gene Chiznik (sp?) after this season? The wheels will come off after they lose to Mississippi St.

Some people bring a knife to a gun fight. Mark Richt brings a Super Soaker 2000.

Can they afford to fire him? I recall he has a huge buyout.

  • Well look what Saban inherited in his first season at Bama? & he also had a bang up class when he first arrived. Just look at how much the results have turned out for both schools.

reading Marsha's short stories are better than the Sunday comics.
    -we're young
    -next year
    -Clemson was a ranked team
-the on campus violence, crime,& 40% departures from Cjiz recuiting classes isnt an Aub thing.

WeeWee Bowden,Tubby,Gus(the once Aub proclaimed master)Malzahn,is it Roof's fault that "guru" VanGordon's D
surrendered 500 yards to Clemson ?

who/what will they blame next ?

I hope they lose. and lose big. They are already whining about the cowbells. But I hope they dont fire him for awhile, anyway. I believe 7 and 5 is the norm and anyone else they bring in would have to be an upgrade.

  • Unreal. THey're IN YEAR FOUR under Chizik's direction. That means Jim Chizik has had the opportunity to bring OVER 100 OF HIS OWN PLAYERS in four years. EFFIN' babies.

Auburn fans sound STUPID when they blame Tuberville four years later. Four years into Saban's regime we weren't bitching about a lack of Shula's recruits or how Shula jammed us. It was TUB'S players they WON with except for Fairley and $cam. They don't thank Tub for that. The whole OL, their kicker, the rest of the DL - ALL Tub's on the '10 championship team.

Chizik needs to recruit BETTER PEOPLE and KEEP them in the program and STOP making freakin' excuses.
