Bring a cheap bicycle (NOLA us a f'ing fantastic biking town) and don't be heartbroken if it's stolen and you have to call a cab. Park your car once and leave it alone.

I only know good spots near frenchmen st.
Your pretty much screwed anywhere near canal. Atleast $20 per day.

Pay the $20-40 for the gated lots or parking decks and leave New Orleans in the same car you came in with.

Don't be cheap. Pay the fees. Park in a garage............even if it's not convenient and you have to take a cab to get to where you want to go.
