Reminds me of this little gem I came across on some *U forum:

"Old friend from school, really a friend of a friend, posted on facebook he didn't want bamer to offer a certain all-star QB. I simply posted, why not. He decided to pm me his response. He explained he didn't want a player of that race to QB his team. He said it in the most disgusting and disrespectful way he could, truly revolting. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but he floored me when he said his co-workers feel the same way. Reminds me of my great uncle praising a young man one minute and using racial slurs the next, when talking about the same man. I really don't think these views are the minority for that fan base. I also think Updykes and Downings are not just the minority. I have three decent friends that pull for bamer and come from good families, the older I get......I think they are the minority."

It's nice to have a little sister that can make you laugh.

Most of those same "enlightened" journalists who think they know the motivations of our coaching staff still believe that Andrew Zow was our mobile QB and Tyler Watts was the dropback passer.

Yep, and they think Phillip Sims is a change of pace type of quarterback for us. Just listen to the TV broadcasts.

    Douché!

  • Lots of responses! Must have touched a nerve. If its not true, leave it alone. You can't always fight "perception".
It tends to stick with Bama because of the social issues thats has define the state and George Wallace.

The same has been said about UF, FSU, Miami etc. The number of Black QBs that had to leave the state of Florida is a worthy topic. Spurrier did not have any, Bowden got one from Georgia (Charlie Ward) and he coached there for 50 years, and Miami did not have any until recently.

    Let it go!
