What is everyone's outlook for the future of their football program? I really thought this sex scandal was going to crush their football team and I guess there is still a lot that has to play out, but they recently got a commit from a TE prospect and now have 2 top 100 commits.
A personally think just as in the case of Bobby Bowden, Paterno stayed around about 5-7 years too long and I believe they might be a force in recruiting now, just like Florida St. Of course Florida St. recruiting hasnt translated to the field yet, but we will have to see.
There is still a lot to play out for Penn St. but these early recruiting commits are good signs for the program.

I think they will be an average team not running for a bcs championship, I don't know if they can even play in a bowl this year, But in the next few years they will be back in there feet and playing penn state football.

I live here in PA, and the perception of PSU and reality are two very diffrerent things. I respect CP as much as anybody, but he ran the program with extreme information protection. The media could never really figure it out, but recent events indicate some of the reasons why. Heck, it was hard for the media to even nail down his exact compensation, very secretive. From a recruiting standpoint, the new coach at PSU, Meyer, will all have the same problem that has always been there... the best football and football players are in the south... and they play in the SEC.

It's not as if PSU is in trouble with the NCAA, so if the new coach can overcome all the bad PR and fallout from the Sandusky scandal, then the opportunity is there to really build a beast of a football program.
It's a unique angle that a head coach has ever had to fight against in program building, that's for sure.
