if anyone couldnt see it coming last year they were kidding themselves. Gus takes a massive pay cut to leave the Plains and be a head coach at a SunBelt school? Well, his wife didnt help much but that little fiasco wouldve been easily forgettable as the season went on. Seeing a defensive minded HC like Gene not once have a top 50 defense in 4 years was also a telling sign of his abilities to develop and perform, especially after seeing so many high recruiting classes. Not getting rid of Trooper last year when he had the chance was also a huge sign that he hasnt a clue about how to run a team. If anyone could NOT see ANY writing on the wall with Trooper they are just flat stupid. And yes I let every AU fan I know, know that theres a huge mistake in retaining him last year. Of course they said we were just jealous...even after another BCS title! Silly barners.
Then, it takes you months..literally months to hire an OC. And the hire was laughable, even more laughable when he himself was hired considering SL had been an OC just one year..at Temple lol. In comes the spin machine at AU to tell us all that SL himself groomed and developed Tom Brady and the beloved Tim Tebow. Then on top of the laughable hiring of SL, in his acceptance speech in AU as the new OC, he made THE single most hilarious statement I had ever heard. "I am truly blessed to have been hired by the best head coach in the country, Coach Chizik". That, to me, was an awesome spin moment. I mean it only took months to search the nation for an OC and "the best coach in the country" landed on a first time OC at Temple?!? LMAO, You cant make this stuff up guys! Brilliant! Love it! RTR

Funniest thing is that Ted Roof has a competitive Top 20 defense at Penn State. I believe they are like #17 in overall defense.

Every coach arrives at auburn a guru and then they are running him out of town a year or 2 later cause he didn't meet their ridiculous expectations that were established by their sunshine pumping media.
