Pollard...

  • I am sorry, but from watching him play, I dont see how this guy was rated so highly. From what I have seen, he just flat out isnt any good. He doesnt even attempt to score and plays so scared.

    beastman321

  • He's a freshman give him time. Lacey didn't impress last year and all of them were timid

    chasen15244538

  • I like his effort and hustle. I think he's a more athletic Evan Brock. But his offensive game is non-existent. Looks awful trying to shoot but does play at least decent d imo

Noel is a freshman, and so is half of Kentucky lol. I hate hearing that in basketball, this is not football. A 5-Star Basketball player should contribute early.

  • Needs to hit the weights.

  • He's athletic as hell, can jump out of the gym, and can play D. His shot needs alot of work though. He's a poor man's Gerald Wallace at this point. He's young, and definitely has the talent to turn into a force if he refines his mid range jumper.

He was overrated as a 5* though.

    bigwilly64

  • Are u kidding me .. Give him time ???... Dude UK has real 5* players ... Pollard could not play at uk .... Incredibly overrated

Tell that to all the Freshman playing for Kentucky right now..

    beastman321

  • Pollard can't do it alone....You should expect some help from veteran players. Well he sure doesn't get that here. He would probably play a lot better at UK because they would teach him and he would grow. Our players don't grow into better players. IMO

He is nothing like Gearld Wallace. Not near the athlete or basketball player.

IMO, another player in the program that is not being developed.

I completely agree -- he plays so scared.

  • It was the same time last year yall were saying Trevor Lacey wasn't living up to 5 star standards. He was averaging 7 points and shooting 30 percent from 3...now he's averaging 13-14 and shooting 45% from 3 so yes give him time

Pretty naive to expect every highly rated freshman to come in and play like Kentucky freshman. Not to mention he's having to play Power Forward because of our extreme lack of inside depth. A position which he's not cut out for

Disagree....Gerald couldn't shoot a lick, could run and jump, and was a great defender. They are most definitely similar.

Aside from Noel, none of the UK freshmen impress at this point either. Noel was up there with Bazz as one of the very best in the country, and he is still raw and very rough around the edges. While freshmen in general can make a significant impact day one, their recruiting ranking is often based on their ceiling as a player, which often takes several years post-high school to reach.

  • Guys have to realize, I don't care how much hype you come in with. Just takes some more time to slow the game down and play with confidence. I can tell you how I took the field as a freshman was way different when I was a junior. Give guys sometime to develop

The ones bashing him, which ones played in front of thousands in a top conference as a freshman and excelled?

He hasn't take a shot this whole game. He has a long way to go. He has no more confidence in this game than he did in his first.

It's tough when you have little confidence. Your scared to make a mistake. I have to think there aren't a lot on here that understand that self doubt or play under some intense pressure

I didn't play with a ton of confidence my freshman year, I used to watch the innings hoping the game would get over. When things go wrong you start to question your ability or what got you there.

    Oh really?

3 Freshman were the top 3 picks last year. The 9th pick was a freshman, The 25th pick was a freshman. 29th was

This year Kentucky has a top draft pick that is a freshman, if he opts to leave.

John Wall, Kyrie Irvin, Enas Kanter, Tristan Thomson, Brandon Knight, Tobias Harris.

That was just from the past 2 years. So please, do some research before posting if you have not payed attention to College basketball lately.

and just to add the 2010 draft, Demarcus Cousins, Derrick Favours, Eric Bledsoe, Daniel Orton, Hassan Whiteside, Lance Stevenson, Tinny Gallon.

Your basically listing the exception not the rule. Why is every guy out of high school be koby or Lebron??

Correct me if wrong but you said you want to act? So if tomorrow you were on a set with Some great young actors are you right in your comfort zone and never miss a beat or would some more time in that environment make you more comfortable like you belong?

Last year 4 of the 30 five stars were one-and-done first rounders. Pollard is one of the 26 others (aka the 87 percenters).
