Possible Sunseri explanation

We all know Kirby Smart is not going to be with us forever. Coach Sal Sunseri was the fan favorite to take over if Kirby departs. Being a DC for an SEC team is a great experience and training ground for Coach Sal. When Kirby departs we call us Sunseri and bring him back home as DC. We would be in a sense using UT as job placement training. I told my UT friend to not get too attached because when Kirby leaves we are coming back for Sunseri. It kinda makes sense in an evil mastermind kind of way. Either way I believe that Saban has a plan.

I wonder how many coaches have left us for a rival school and then came back? Can only think of Oliver at the moment. I'm sure there were others. And by rival school I mean Tennessee and au.

That was line of thinking also. Kirby probably has one more season with us before a big job comes. RTR

and what better place to jump from than the DC at Alabama which he can take just after Kirby leaves? He gets his feet wet at UT and then comes back to Bama ready to take over, I can see it happening. Not saying it will but if that scenario unfolds in a year or two I'll look like a genious.

This isn't likely gonna happen imo. Lucky stated he feels being a DC now at a major SEC school is his quickest path to being a HC. If that's the case. Why would he leave UT as a DC? To return to the same position at Bama?

It can be a dangerous career move waiting on another coach to leave. While I personally believe that Kirby Smart will be gone in a couple of seasons, Lucky said he's being picky on what HC job he takes and it could be a tad bit longer than the average DC and time is on Smarts side since he's only 36 years old. Time however isn't on Coach Sal's time He is in his early 50s and now is the time to make his move.

Nope the guy clearly wants to be a HC in possibly a years time. He feels he needs DC exp. to make that happen. So with Kirby being picky & waiting on the right job. The man left for UT. I don't think we'll see him back at Bama in a year or two. But that is jmo. UT is clearly willing to take the gamble that he may turn around & leave if he gets a HC gig in 2013. Hell... who knows! If Dooley gets canned. & his defense is respectable. He may end up being UT's next HC. LOL

Think his 3 years is guaranteed regardless of Dooley. May be wrong on that but that would justify it somewhat
