    7. Defensive Recruiting: We NEED DEs Robert N'Kimdeche and Montravious Adams! We NEED CBs Jalen Ramsey, Vonn Bell and one other guy (FSU commit---Marquez White).

    BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

We are still in a VERY GOOD position. Things will shake out in 2 or 3 weeks. By the end of the conference championship games, at least 2 out of the 3 currently undefeated teams will lose. I GUARANTEE THAT. biggrin

There is a tremendous amount of pressure upcoming on these 3 teams. The one I believe is best equipped to handle it is the Oregon Ducks. However, they are suffering from injuries, employ a Freshman QB and may face USC's defensive guru, Monte Kiffin one more time. Kansas State has an excellent head coach and terrific preparation but they are beat-up and inexperienced in this situation. Notre Dame has the more difficult schedule and tremendous YOUTHFULNESS as a part of their DNA.

WE will see...#15 is on the way...Roll Tide Roll !!! rolltideroll

#7 is the point I believe is most correct. If we could have gotten pressure on JM he would not have been so damn accurate with his passes. We have to get some pressure on the QBs sometimes. The front line cannot depend on perfect secondary coverage every play.

Regarding this loss, as well as the LSU game, I still say we just played 2 games where the opposing QB had nearly flawless games. This just doesn't happen very often and it has shown on the scoreboard.

Agree totally on the top 3 and them losing a game between now and the end of the season. It's one thing to get to the top, it's another to stay there. Lot's of pressure and media attention will start coming their way.

The biggest difference for the defense in the last two games is 0 forced turnovers. They were statistically matching the 2011 squad because of all of the turnovers. The 2011 teams didn't have to force turnovers because of all of the 3 and outs they forced.

I concur with your assessment. But, I wasn't dealing with issues outside of personnel. agreed

Can we beat Oregon, even with a 40+ day layoff?

After Saturday, not sure. We have to fix some things on offense. We seemed to have changed our offensive identity from being a physical direct run team to a finesse cutesy pass team. We got beat by Oregon Lite, I think the real Oregon would've put 50 on us.

I will take ALABAMA 99.9% of the time against ANY team with at least a month off for preparing, getting healed and rested for a football game with this staff. As matter of fact, if the opportunity presents itself, I predict ALA over Oregon by 17 points, at least.

I can assure you that we will develop and coach the best personnel groupings to match their speed and scheme. For the record, I AIN'T wearing any Crimson colored glasses. biggrin rolltideroll

Bama loses one game and now they aren't what everyone thought they were. Just curious, and this is not a swipe at the OP, where were these comments during the first 10 weeks?

    I gave you a +1 for what it's worth.

BamaTrending, I didn't take it as a slight. I have harbored this feeling since the first game in Dallas. A few former football letterman and I have been discussing the when, NOT IF, the weaknesses of some of our personnel grouping might be exposed. Truthfully, a few teams have had the opportunity, but they have misfired for a few reasons. I am CERTAIN that the coaches see this when they review the film.

I just choose to withhold certain thoughts and pray. pray

    RTR 65:

I am feeling you. However, he is working with an incomplete tool set. Yet, he is smart as hell. They don't NEED to stop Oregon from scoring period. USC just needs to slow them down to every 3-4 series.

Remember: Oregon allowed USC to score 51 points!!! pray rolltideroll preciatecha

Great post, but play calling was questionable as well. I think our OC is too west coast and does not know Bama's identity. We should have tried to pound the ball in when we were on their goal line at the end of the game. Put Jessie Williams at Fullback and Pound away if we can't get several yards with that jumbo package in 4 attempts then we don't deserve to win., but what do I know. Great post on the other stuff, good analysis!!!

    agreed

I am NOT sure if I would have placed Jesse Williams in to block, unless it was 2nd down from the 2 yard line and inward. Otherwise, I would have run a formation with both Lacy and Yeldon from a Pro set..meaning I spread them out and get the safeties out of the box, Or I put Blake Sims into the game for either Yeldon, Lacy or a slot receiver, spread them out. I motion Blake Sims into the backfield either way. I run the ball every down with quick hitting power plays to the balanced side of the formation. The only pass I run is a miss direction play to the SLOT receiver going in motion to the weak side of the offensive formation on a quick hitch route or slant OR shuffle pass to Lacy, Blake or Yeldon against the flow to the weak side of the formation. I run either of these safe pass plays on 1st or 2nd down.

But, I ONLY pass ONCE!!! banghead We ARE ALABAMA with a tremendous offensive line and 2 powerful RBs and an elusive Wildcat RB.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

Did you mean more difficult schedule this year or remaining? besides USC their schedule is pretty weak remaing! I agree their entire schedule for the year has been impressive!

Oregon has 2 top 15 teams and probably USC.

KSU has Baylor and Texas both of which could cause trouble.

Notre Damn at the Coliseum, I think the Irish luck runs out there.

Win the next 3 and see what happens, if we don't make it to the BCS championship then I hope ND wins out and we play them in the Sugar, #3 vs #4 would be nice!!
